Hi fellow Grease fans! I found an old tape cassette of the stage show with Rosie as Rizzo. I think it's from about 1993, 1994. I was just wondering HOW she got to do the show------she can not sing! Has anyone else listened to this? The rest of the music/singers are great, it's just Rosie who sticks out like a sore thumb. If you know about this, was she actually on Broadway as well? I for one would never pay to see her, when I see a show on Broadway, I want to pay for good singers! This is why I cannot wait to see the show in September---I am in love with Max and Laura's voices :) Ok, thank you, hope you have a nice day!
Rosie is a huge supporter of Broadway, and I'm sure she was there because of her celebrity status. Some folks go to see great singers. Others may go to see 'names'.
I also love Max and Laura's voices. Can't wait to hear them on Broadway!
According to ibdb, Rosie played Rizzo from May, '94 to Jan. '98 - which was the start of the 1st revival of the show on Broadway. It's not completely unsual for directors to cast a celebrity who's a less than stellar singer in order to have the name attached to a show... there are worse things they could do...

My Goodness, just the thought of it. This is a first to me. I agree with you all the way. No way would I pay and not to be a stinker, they couldn't pay me to see it. When are you going in September? Take care God Bless. DD
Hi Goofy4MaxC!!! Yes, I definitely wouldn't ever pay to see Rosie....she's just not my cup of tea. I am going to the show on September 14th, I CANNOT wait!!!!! Just to hear Max and Laura in person is going to be worth every penny spent. There is nothing like a Broadway show, I'm counting down the days!!!!! Take care, and I must tell you that I LOOOVE Max as well, he is incredible!
I totally agree with you... I have the cd at home.... and everytime there is a song with her alone... I pass it.. she sings so bad... I am glad I am not the only one who thinks so...
I saw Rosie as Rizzo on Broadway and loved the show. Her personality was perfect for the part. I also saw her in Fiddler on the Roof and she did a good job with that part also. I have tickets for early October....can't wait!
