When they announced the cast on Broadwayworld.com their was no mention who was cast as Doody?

Is Doody even in this production?

There are several roles that either haven't been cast yet or are unannounced.  They only names that are showing attached to the show are the ones that were announced on the last episode of the show.  I keep checking ibdb to see if any more are added.

Would they have cast Max as Doody if he didn't win the Danny role?

I wondered that myself, but they haven't used any of the other contestants from the show for any of the parts, so I am guessing probably not.  I think Alli would be great as Patti Simcox.
