Once the blonde opened her mouth and made the comment about Laura's hair she lost all credibility for me.  If you can't get past that then your opinion on Laura's performance isn't valid, IMO

I agree, it shouldn't matter what Sandy's hair color is. Remember Jon Secada played Danny and he's Latino and dark skinned and no one cared.

My sister's school did Grease and both Danny and Sandy were African American. No one complained then.

Then I'd say your sister's school got the point. Yay for them. Sandy and Danny are any girl and any guy trying to navigate social acceptance and romantic attraction at an age when both can be rather snarly.
