Hello Grease fans. Not so long ago, some members were willing to help out a fan on her quest to NYC to see Grease.
Because of the popular interest, it got me thinking. Wouldn't it be great if we could get as many members as possible to go see the show at the same time. It would be a blast. Plus, I know they give discounts on "group" sales. Not really sure what, but their web states it. My wife and I plan on going back, we just haven't picked out any dates yet. I just thought it would be fun to meet some new people, and put faces to all the wonderful members that post so many positive things on this forum.
Any and all feedback would be great. If your interested, please either post or send me a private message on what dates you would be available for. For us, I was thinking sometime between April and August of 2008.
Thanks and can't wait to hear from you all!!!!!!!!!!
I'm interested but a this point I can't give you an exact date I'll be free. Nevertheless, sometime between April and August sounds good to me. Why doesn't everyone else agree on a date and I will try my darndest to get it off.
I'M READY TO GO! HOW ABOUT IN JUNE, AFTER THE SNOW MELTS, THE BIRDS ARE SINGING, AND WE CAN HAVE A PICNIC IN CENTRAL PARK, WITH THE GUESTS OF HONOR, OF COURSE!
I believe that Max and Laura's contract is over in May 2008 or somewhere very close to that. I also thought they were not selling tickets past May 31? I could be wrong on the ticket date, but am pretty sure about Max's date.
Ahhh. This sounds like great fun, but I'll be attending with my family and will need to plan accordingly. I really think we're going to have to take off as soon as the kiddoes get out of school in mid-May and see what could be one of the last shows.
I hope this works out (what a great idea, Hello!) for all of you, then you can report back your thoughts about the same show!
What a wonderful idea! I was thinking that March or April seem best or even May. If I know enough in advance I can get off work. Let me know what you all decide and I'll work with the date you come up with. But money wise the later the better for me.
i would LOVE LOVE LOVE to see the show again. not sure if my finances will allow another trip to the city, but if there are some details worked out, i will see what i can do.
This is an awesome idea. I hope it works out for everyone. For us, we are definitely going to return, but I can't commit to April or May. Super wants to go back for his birthday in November. I just can't afford it so soon after our summer adventures and just before the holidays. So, we are looking at March when both the girls have the exact same spring break(miraculously) . This way we can go as a family instead of just Super and I. My oldest does not get out of school until mid-June, so March is really our best option. I will not make definite plans until next year when I am sure we can go. Cross your fingers for us.
Good luck with these plans! I wish we could join you.
Most definitley, it'd be awesome to meet so many people on the board face-to-face!
Since I live out in Michigan and my mother controls everything vacation related, I can't persuade her to schedule on the same dates too much. But, we may go into the city Spring Break this year, because we have the past two years! I'm not sure on the dates, but obviously mid-April or so. Everyone who goes, have a great time!

Hi, I'm Lauren. "Sing till you're breaking glass or you're breaking down"
April seems to be okay for the majority of persons on this board. Any of these dates are good for me with a Sat. or Sunday performance if that is available. If we go to a matinee performance, we will have time to meet for dinner afterwards.
Thank You JO. I would have done it myself if not for 2 reasons. I went to sign up and the site was under construction and I thought the idea might have better success coming from a veteran forum member rather that a newbie.
I too thought that a weekend date would be better, but doesn't really matter to me. If we did a matinee, we could have dinner afterwards or if we did a night show---we could have dinner before. Many ideas, I just want to get the ball rolling so many of us will have ample time to start saving.
My mom's talking about going back next spring... so you can probably count me in (I can't miss more than 1 day of school though...... darn AP classes...)
Hello 799. Click on "Forum" when you go to Max's site. The forum is now in operation although the rest of the site is under reconstruction. Let us know what type of seats are available for the dates you proposed. Thanks.
Just to keep everyone informed. I'm still working with Group Sales on dates and prices. If anyone else is interested, please post.
Also, I would assume that some people would be inviting other people as well. If you could let me know who is all interested and how many people you would be bringing, that would be great. Group sales are interested in how many tickets we may need. As I count, it looks like we have 8 or 9 with another 3 to 4 maybe's. Group sales are split into groups, group A would be 9 to 19 tickets and group B would be 20 or more tickets. I would love to get to group B...............
I am willing to buy two tickets although probably only need one. I will then sell the extra as time goes by. I do not believe it will be a problem to sell the extra ticket (at a normal price) as the event draws near. Is the seating front and center with Group B?
As of right now, we can get pretty much any seats we want. I didn't go as far to ask for front row as I know they are $300 tickets and it sounds like a discount would only bring it down to $210. If OUR group would be interested in this, I will ask.
I possibly might be interested, is there any thoughts on hotels that we won't have to sell our first born for? I would have a long way to come so the flight would be the biggest exspense. If I could do it I would bring 2 of us. What a great idea!
Sorry for the delay and the over a month silence. It has been very stressful trying to put this together. Just to give an update. I finally received word from group sales that this is something we can do. However, if we wanted group seats, we would either have to pay full price for whatever seats we wanted or we could get discounted seats in a specific area. I am currently awaiting a response from them on what specific seats they are before I posted anything else. Still looking for dates somewhere around April 24 - 27. Prefer Sat night, but still checking on all the other shows. As it took me almost 4 weeks to finally contact someone, I don't expect any of my questions to be answered anytime soon. But when they are, I will post. If some other dates works well for anyone else, please let me know.
THANKS FOR THE INTEREST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! TAKE CARE EVERYBODY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You ARE getting at least a free dinner out of this if it all pans out! Thanks for playing phonetag for us!
Thanks NYC9758. Not that I'm looking for a free dinner. I just thought it would be a great idea not only to get to know other forum members, but give support to this cast and crew of GREASE.
I think this is a great idea. I went in Oct with my husband and it just wasn't the same. My hootin' and hollerin' by myself was quite lonely!! We waited at the back door and got autographs, but I was star struck. Max was right in front of me and my husband had to do the talking. Max and my 7 yr old son share birthdays. We went to the 10/7 show and I forgot to wish Max a happy birthday (10/8)!! I felt horrible afterwards. I need to make it up to myself. My husband won't go again, but he loved the show. My best friend, my "grease partner in crime" lives in Chicago and can't afford NYC. If I have to do this by myself to meet all of of you for the show, I am up for it!! Please keep me posted.
Hello799, Thanks for all the leg work. I know everyone appreciates it! I am continuing to wait for my chance to get back to NYC to see the show againl If I haven't had an opportinity arise before April, I definitely would want to go. I agree with seeing the show with like minded fans would be really fun! Please keep us posted!
Greasefan, I laughed out loud when I read your post. I, too, was star struck when Max stood right in front of me. Though I was able to strike up conversastions with other cast memebers, all I managed to say to him was "I have the same birthday as you and your sister......". At that point, he did glance at me with a rather puzzled look on his face. I could've kicked myself!! If I ever return to NYC again to see Grease, I'm bringing my 7 and 9 year old daughters. Both him and Laura were super nice to the little ones. I can use them as weapons to redeem myself! :)
Rae66, I did notice that the young ones got all the attention. I had this lady behind me shoving her son right in front of me. She even had the nerve to ask if I could scoot over, so she can be near her son!! Needless to say, her son was spoken to a lot by the cast members that came out. Maybe I was more angry than starstruck?!?!?
I was even thinking about planning a day to take my kids to NYC and visit the Grease back door at the appropriate times- just because I saw how much time Max and Laura spent with the young ones.
