This is great news. Now, they have to cast Max and Laura for this movie.

It's a rumor. The quotes sound like nothing Pfeiffer would say. I wouldn't get your hopes up on this. A remake of Grease starring Jessica Simpson would be horrible. Absolutely horrible. I would file this news story under the "fiction" section.

Why do I have the feeling that if they remake Grease they will butcher it! Jessica Simpson? Really? How quickly we forget the tragedy that was The Dukes of Hazzard.

Deep breaths. This isn't going to happen

Well ya know ... I believed it was just a bunch of rumors. Still want to believe that, but today I saw pics of Jessica Simpson doing publicity for her line at Macy's. Says she'll be in a NYC store today for this promotion, and will also visit Grease. Hmmm. She is so. not. Sandy.

Well, they said Max was not Danny, but he is. If it turns out it is true we can give her a chance. Maybe there is going to be a different interpretation of Sandy like there is of Danny. In any case if Grease is remade in any shape or form I will see it. But if it is a "sequel" I would skip it. Unless Max was in it, of course.

After being used to Max and Laura, anybody over 25 is gonna look old to me as Danny and Sandy. I actually like the idea of using younger actors since they are supposed to be in high school. These days with the likes of High School Musical, I think they would be better served to use fresh young talent. I can think of some fresh young talent that would be great! *wink*

Speaking of sequel, how about Max as Danny and Sandy's kid? But then it would have to be set in the '70s. I guess he could be their grandchild...he said it himself on GMA about his grandparents being around in the 50's. Max could be a modern day Danny and Laura could be the love interest. This time though, I want the guy to have to change, and change into a good guy not a bad one. That was always my sticking point with Grease. Come on guys, let's get the script going! lol!

I think if Jessica Simpson was cast as Sandy it would ruin the movie/ empire completely. Shes def. not innocent enough and when she tries to act innocent - she just looks plain dumb. If they do make a movie it would be wise to cast Max and Laura or someone equally talented and just as young...but I also would not like to see the movie remade and at the same time I would...im scared we would have another Grease 2 on our hands - even though I personally liked the move , no one else did and it put a dent in the Grease "empire"
I think nothing could be as good as the original - we just need to find the next best thing and with all the musical remakes coming out recently and in the near future, who knows.

Hey, I liked Grease 2. Quite a bit, actually. I thought I was the only one. ;)

Hey Kait, here's another thing we have in common! I, too, liked Grease 2. It was the first musical movie I ever saw, way before the orginal Grease, and it made quite an impression on me. I still don't get why everyone hated it so much. Perhaps I was too young and easily pleased. :)
