We are going to the show on Dec 8. Does anyone think we are in danger of not seeing the show because of the strike

Word on the street is that Local One has given the authorization to strike. Whether or not they will actually strike remains to be seen though.

And I have Les Miz tickets for tomorrow.

According to the news, the two sides have been meeting intensely for the past two or three days. No word as to whether progress has been made.

Let us hope they can reach an agreement before anything drastic happens!

Last I heard, a strike has been authorized after both sides rejected offers.

It could come as early as today, as late as Monday...if it happens at all.

Having just purchased tickets for several plays in January, I am definitely hoping that the strike doesn't happen or if it does that it is settled quickly.  I can't help but think how many people there are like me who are spending over $1000 just to go to New York and book a hotel for a week before you even get to theater and it isn't always that easy to change those plans and flights.

A strike has been set for 10 AM tomorrow, my sources are telling me, though nothing has been reported on the Local One website.

Actors have been advised by Equity not to cross picket lines.

Oh my goodness. I will be saying a prayer tonight for a resolution by tomorrow. The effect on so many workers, actors and the theater goers will be really sad. We have many friends and family going to the show this next week starting with tomorrow night.

As I understand it now, a union meeting has been set for 9 AM, with a strike immediately following.

Can't say how true/false it is, though.

Chances are, it'll be resolved by Monday/Tuesday at the latest, with Mayor Bloomberg stepping in to solve it like last time.

I was at Les Miz tonight and while backstage I heard that the actors have to show up for work tomorrow but then will be let go

They have to show up to be ready to work and get whatever pay they may be getting. I am sure they are not getting their full pay. An actor's life? Not easy!
