Drowsy is still one of the best shows on Broadway. I saw it early in previews and in early November and the only difference is the cast. The show is an incredible feel-good musical, still.

Didn't really like Mara Davi, but Bob Saget was a very charming, hilarious Man in Chair.

FYI.

I wish I could go to the concert, but, alas! I work. Maybe that shouldn't be alas; I have a job :)

Anyway, I loved Drowsy. I saw it with the original cas, which included Bob Martin and Sutton Foster. They were amazing and the show was wonderful. After the show, I went to one of my favorite cocktail lounges, which is on the top of the Marriot Hotel (Drowsy is in Marriot Marquis) It moves slowly around the building and you get great views of the NYC skyline. Worth the trip!

Max and Laura will be there at the concert and I am not sure about the rest of the cast. I just asked if he was going to be there and he said yes.
Would be great if anyone here is there and can take some pictures. They had such a great time doing the show last night, it was great to hear that excitement again.

How I would love to go too! I bet all the Broadway actors are energetic and joyful and the concert would be wonderful! I watched the lighting of the Christmas tree in Rockefeller Center the other night on TV. It was fun to see that and it sure looked beautiful that evening.

I lined up today and saw the free show (sorry, didn't bring my camera Rachel, but there were a LOT of press folk there so I'm sure pictures will show up somewhere soon!). A bit of a short show considering the wait out in the cold, but what a nice treat nevertheless. And hey, it was free! :) The show started in the dark with the Man in the Chair monologue, a la The Drowsy Chaperone, only this one was all about the stagehands' strike. It got lots of laughs and cheers, and ended up with Bob Martin offering to get the audience some drinks from his refrigerator (which if you've seen the Drowsy Chaperone, serves as the entry point for many of the characters into the Man's apartment). Of course, he can't manage to pry open the fridge door, when out of nowhere appeared...two stagehands! They got lots of cheers of course, and then Bernadette Peters strolled in through the fridge, fulfilling the Man's dreams haha. She sang a bit of no business like show business with some words switched around in reference to the strike. Then representatives from all of the Broadway shows appeared on stage in full costume. Bob Saget made an appearance as the Man in the Chair's neighbor (dressed in the same brown cardigan of course) and asks for a copy of Gypsy. Bob of course haughtily said, well you can't come in here asking for a copy of Gypsy without specifying which one, and goes on to list all the actresses who've played the role...including Angela Lansbury - who of course magically appears to lead the Broadway actors and actresses in a bit of We Need a Little Christmas. So someday, Max and Laura can say they shared a stage with Angela Lansbury and Bernadette Peters! I actually thought it was going to be a long show with each of the casts performing a short bit from their shows, but alas, that was the end of the show. The audience was electric, and all the actors looked so thrilled to be back where we've missed them. Max and Laura looked - as always - as fresh and excited to perform as ever. I wish all of the performers the very best as all of their shows start up again. Glad this episode is behind us!
