Has anyone else noticed the Grease posters taped to the metal detection gates at the entrance of so many Duane Reades in Manhattan? I wonder what kind of partnership Grease has with Duane Reade. They should do a ticket contest! I hope they keep the posters, I just love walking by any Duane Reade and seeing Max and Laura!
Our hotel was right next to a Duane Reade drug store. And yes I was thrilled to see the big posters of Max and Laura. It actually helped to build up extra excitement for seeing the show!
Greatwhiteway, I chuckled to myself over your comment for the temptation us parents have to voice, "that's my son (or daughter) you know!" Laura is on the cover of the current Sun Country Airlines in flight magazine and I had the opportunity to fly that airline recently. Oh how easily I could have stood up and made an absolute idiot of myself and shouted out, "This is my daughter on the cover of this in flight magazine! Maybe you all should read about her." I didn't do that, of course, but I squeaked in a couple comments to the flight attendants and also to those sitting next to me. It's such a fine line to be appropriately joyful for the kids without being overbearingly proud. But when you're just "everyday people" like we consider ourselves it's just amazing to see your child in so many articles, billboards, posters, etc. It's been a year long glow for me. Such a marvelous opportunity this has been. I think if I lived in New York I might walk past the 8 story high billboard every day and just joyfully stare at it for a few minutes. How long will it take for this feeling to subside? It's certainly been wonderful.

On one side alone the New Brunswick station has five Spring Awakening posters and three Grease. I'm not sure how many there are in total. The next time I ride up I'll have to remember to sit on the other side so I can count them and see how many there are at that one station. New Brunswick is a college town, btw, so there's no surprise that the station chose to advertise those two shows.

yeah, it's really fun to see them every time i walk into duane reade (where i seem to spend more $ than any other store in nyc!) what i noticed, though (and i noticed this on the program the second time i saw the show and on every other billboard except the big one on 47th st) is that they airbrushed max's hair. modern-danny spikey has given way to the traditional 'grease' slicked back look.
i kind of prefer max spikey but pr is pr, i guess.
I love those Duane Reade Musical Posters :D LOL I remember seeing the Hairspray & A Chorus Line ones back in August! Yay Max & Laura! Hopefully they will still be up next time I come into the city!!!

When I saw those this weekend, I almost asked the manager is I could take one home!!! I didn't think it would be a good idea to lug it to grand central and home on the train tho...lol...or else I would have ;)
