Max Off the night of Kids Night on Broadway
Permalink Closed

I cannot begin to tell you the heartbreak my children underwent when they found out Max was not performing last Wednesday 2/6. It was "kids night on broadway" and my kids were looking forward to seeing Max and Laura on stage. They were tuned in to every episode of "Grease you're the one that I want" and huge fans of Max. My 10-year old daughter cried through the first half. It's a good thing we were in the balcony because her sobbing might have been very distracting to the actors. I know these actors need a night off and their understudy put on a great performance also, but I just wish they would have taken into consideration the "Kids Night on Broadway" and been schedule for their young fans.

Are you 100% sure that Max "took the night off" as opposed to being sick? There's been a lot of illness floating around Broadway and Max was very sick a few weeks ago. It's highly possible that he succumbed to the same illness.

Unless Max or someone close to him came up to you and specifically said "Max took the night off because he has something better to do" I wouldn't assume he is inconsiderate to his fans - young or otherwise.

The flu is rampant in NYC, just ask me. I have been sick for the last five days, fever, chills, the whole nine yards!

Sorry to hear you have been ill! I hope you are on the mend and back to good health soon. Hopefully the cast is avoiding the flu.

kathleen, I feel very bad for your kids. I hope they'll get another chance to see Max and hopefully the Brooks Atkinson staff or others related to the show see your post and do something about it.
