I saw Grease again this past Friday! Some observations: -The choreography and acting were excellent even though 5 regulars were not there (Jan, Rizzo, Frenchy, Teen Angel, Sonny) -Max carries a handkerchief in every scene to wipe his brow and even wiped off Laura's lipstick at the end of YTOTIW! He should leave it on haha -Seems like Max doesn't do the rolling over on his head and back anymore at the first verse of YTOTIW darn -When I saw it in September, Laura and Max received entrance applause but not this time -How long will they continue the AIDS benefit collection at the end of the show? I thought it was just during holiday time. Does Max humorously say give $10 at the end of every show? (He was cute saying "There are 1000 seats so if everyone gives $10, we'll have $10,000... so give $10 everyone.")
I plan to go again in the summer and hopefully I get Jose since each time I got Kevin, who did great as Sonny, but would really like to see how Jose portrays the skirt chaser Sonny!
One more thing: I was tickled that Max sings the riff "I've got a girl named rama lama..." at the reprise of We Go Together. I don't think he sang that last time I saw it, and I love that part since I picked it up myself when I listened to the CD track and was glad others on the forum noticed it too!
Jose is one of my favorite actors in the show as Sonny. Now of all things, I'd be the one crying if I didn't get to see HIM when I was in New York. I just think he's hilarious!
The Broadway Cares drive lasts until the end of April. They collect twice a year - November, in advance of the Gypsy of the Year competition, and March/April, in advance of the Easter Bonnet competition, where each show designs their own Easter bonnet.
