Saw the show last Sunday

And it was SO good! I'm so happy I got the opportunity to see it again; it's a big deal to come from Minnesota---having to arrange tickets, hotel, etc. The cast was excellent, I was disappointed to learn that one of my favorite T-Birds, Daniel Everidge, was out, and will be for the next 6-9 months! Apparently he tore a muscle in his leg :(
But the show was just so much fun, just like I remember it, only it looks like they did some new choreography near the end, it seems Laura and Max danced more than last time. What a treat to see this show----wow, it was good!!!!! I got the added pleasure of seeing Max and Laura run to their waiting car after the show, they were all dressed up to go tape the Tony Awards preview show----they looked incredible.
Another pleasure was of seeing Jose Restrepo this time around; he was out when I was last there. WOW!!!!!! He is awesome-----I really enjoyed watching him on stage; he was one of my favorite's to watch, I just loved his facial expressions! He was nice enough to sign my Playbill and pose for a picture, what a nice guy! Another one I really liked watching was Emily Padgett----I believe she is one of Laura's understudies. She is very talented, and a great dancer :) The show makes me want to go back again and again-----I want to see it more in order to see everyone on stage; sometimes I feel like I'm missing out since there is so much going on sometimes :) Everyone should try and see this show-----it's just a fun night, it's a big party and that band is also just incredible!!! Ha ha ha, the drummer was so nice, and he was out signing autographs after. As you can see, I really enjoyed every second....I hated to have it end! I want to see it again!!!!!! Hope you all have a nice day :) Danasmile.gif

I think so too, but I am quite prejudiced!

Sweet of you both to say so.

Great review LauraFan1 ! This is the reason that Grease has been so successful, everyone can relate to the music, the dancing and the feel good message . Each time I've seen Grease has been a new experience,it never gets old.For a few hours it transports you to another time and place. The enthusiasm the show creates is contagious!

Thanks Judy, and welcome to the board! I love coming here, it's certainly an interesting place :) I hope you get the chance to see this GREASE---it's just a really fun evening; it doesn't pretend to be anything it isn't, if you know what I mean. The songs were just great, and the actors really are wonderful. And I can't forget that band...they were awesome, and really kept the place rocking! Hope you're able to see the show!!!!

Good evening Mr. E! Our trip was great---we packed in alot of things....in no particular order:
Hiked over the Brooklyn Bridge, ate at a great pizza place called "Grimaldi's", then hiked back
Paid our respects at Ground Zero
LOVED Central Park, especially the Alice In Wonderland sculpture and the beautiful landscaping
Ate more than I should have of the fabulous Black & White cookies :)
Were in awe at everything in Times Square---I swear I heard every language in the world come through!!
Saw some excellent deli's filled with great food
Met one of my favorite performer's; the one and only Jim Borstelmann, who is currently in "Young Frankenstein"----excellent show by the way, and we also saw Roger Bart a few times outside the theater
Saw the city at night, high atop "Top Of The Rock"---very beautiful!!!!
I was in the crowd at the TODAY show and got a picture with Ann Curry
Visited the most excellent Dean & Deluca's, right across from the TODAY show, and got spoiled with their Angel Food Muffin every morning, ha ha
Had dessert at Sardi's-----I'd heard of Floating Islands before, and had been looking forward to trying them, and got the chance, they were great!
Walked most everywhere, that city is amazing, so many interesting stores and just daily life to look at :) It poured rain last Monday, but the city was just as much fun then
Had a fun lunch at Ellen's Stardust Diner, where the waiters and waitresses sang to us
And of course, seeing GREASE and having the opportunity to hear Laura in person again-----that girl has the voice of an angel; I really wish she would have her own CD someday!!!! What a joy to see and hear her and Max again-----I'd been wanting to do that since last September. Also, meeting some of the other WONDERFUL performers from the show: notably, Jose Restrepo----I can't say enough how much I enjoyed watching him; along with the Teen Angel, and Emily Padgett-----really a terrific actress and dancer. We also REALLY enjoyed getting to chat with Laura's husband, Nathan, after the show at the stage door; he is sooo nice and just a great guy; so fun to talk to!
***I also said hello to Kodama Sushi (hopefully I spelled that right) for you; we didn't go in, but I waved to it as I passed, ha ha
It was a wonderful trip to the city, and I really hope I can return sometime!
Those are some of the major highlights....it's just a great place and beyond interesting! So much great energy and fun people; it's a place where you can really be yourself!!!
Thanks for asking Mr. E----I hope you are having a great night yourself, take care!
Dana
