The only sad thing is that the new Grease discount code is horrible. $97! What sort of "discount" is that? There was a $75 one just last night that expired on July 6. This new one was put up today and guess when it expires. September 7. I'm sure you all know what happens that day.

Being on stage for Xanadu sounds interesting. Are there any other plays that have this option that you know of? It's a way to save money! I hope you have loads of fun on this weekend of plays!

Spring Awakening is the only other one that I know of off the top of my head.

Wow that sounds like a great weekend! Have you seen Xanadu? I'm interested to hear more about that show. The movie was so bad......LOL
Oooooh Xanadu! I have to say that I am in love with Cheyenne Jackson's voice-----I just listened to the CD this morning, and he is AMAZING---one of the best male voices I've heard. I would love to see that show in person!!!!!!!! He makes me crazy, he is soooooooooooooo talented!!!!!!!
I would like to see the show just to see how they made an utterly ridiculous movie into a good broadway show!
I saw one scene on I think the Today show? And I didn't like the girl's voice at all.
You mean, how did they make the Broadway show into a movie? The show was first and then came the movie. It has been revived twice and this is the second revivial. The play is different than the movie.
Glad to hear that Andy and Eris will be together again. LOOK OUT NYC.................Girls on a "weekend out". OH-OH..... Seriously, glad to hear she's coming. What are you doing between shows on Sun. There are alot of good restaurants in walking distance?????? What do ya say??
This would be my second time at Xanadu but my first time on stage. I first the film when I was little right after my Grease phase started (and ended). I enjoyed it but at this time I also thought that Supergirl was a quality film. I still enjoy the film today even though I can see the faults. But I also know that it's not trying to be Gone With the Wind. It's a cute fluffy movie with one of the greatest film actors - Gene Kelly. His dance scene with Olivia Newton-John was one of the best scenes in the movie.

You know what, I don't actually know that I've seen the whole thing straight through, so maybe I spoke out of turn. It's one of those movies I've only seen bits and pieces of here and there.
It's a goofy movie with great music. When filming started they didn't have a completed script and they made it up as they went along. I like to tell people if you're going to watch it go in with an open mind. It's nothing great but if you have the right state of mind it can be enjoyable.

If you're looking for a movie where you can kick you feet up and just not think for a few hours then Xanadu is the way to go. When I first heard they were adapting the film for Broadway I was a bit incredulous but they've expanded the story and made a really fun show.

I made this post with the intent on receiving a reply!?!?????
Have a great weekend you certainly have a plan. I'm going to try and get tickets for the Jersey Boys and Legally Blonde (movie was a hoot). Might do another matinee for Grease next Saturday. Heck matinee during the day and I already have tickets for the evening so that would work.
My friend and I need to firm up our choices in the next few days. I love Broadway and that's what I miss most moving out of New York.
Just remember Curtains is closing on June 29 and A Catered Affair is closing in July. If you haven't seen them GO. I've seen both shows and can recommend them highly.

It looks like Legally Blonde might not be happening. Marjory's worried about being tired after flying on from New Orleans at 6am. So we might just go right back to my place. She's sad about the possibility of missing Kate in Legally Blonde but she says going from New Orleans to Newark and then taking the train to where I live only to get back on the train to go to NYC might be too tiring for her.

That sounds like a lot! The last thing you want to do is over-do-it. I once drove to NYC (4hrs), ate lunch at Serendipity, saw Sweet Charity and drove back. I was exhausted by the end of the day! Marjory doesn't want to be ill the next day and miss seeing Max!
I was looking forward to seeing Andrea Martin in Young Frankenstein when Andy comes in two weeks but I saw Beth Leavel in The Drowsy Chaperone twice on Broadway and loved her. So I'm sad about missing Andrea but excited about seeing Beth.

Andy's arriving one week from today! I was talking to her last night and she's so excited but she has a cold. She's afraid she won't be over it in time. I told her to get plenty of rest and drink lots of lemonade.

Several years ago, I was out of town visiting a friend when I started to come down with a cold. My firend suggested taking ( 4) C vitamins three times a day . By the third day, I was my ole self again.

That's essentially the same reason I suggested the lemonade. As long as you're drinking lemonade made with real lemons you're not only getting the vitimin c but, unlike oranges, lemons have natural synephrine which is a great cold fighter.

I did not know that, Eris! Good information to know!
My mom was a nurse until my older brother was born and they moved to NJ. I've got all sorts of little gems like that.
Anytime I have a cold I head right for the lemonade. I don't like to take medicine unless I really need it so I like having the "natural" remedies handy. And I don't know if it's just in my head because I expect the lemonade to work but as soon as I start drinking it I feel better.
But back to Andy. I haven't spoken to her yet today but I imagine we'll be talking tonight when I get home from work. As I mentioned before the original plan was to go to New York to see Legally Blonde on Friday night but that's been scratched because she's concerned she'll be too tired from catching a 6am flight out of New Orleans. So I've been toying with what to do that night. Both The Dark Night and Mamma Mia come out in theatres that day but is taking her to a darkened movie theatre when she's tired such a good idea? She's supposed to arrive in Newark at around 3pm, I believe. There's a train station at Newark Airport so all she needs to do is get on the train and come here. I drive righht past the train station on my way home from work so I'll just swing in and pick her up I think what I'll do is bring her back to the house and we'll just get take out. There's really no need to plan every minute that she's here.

Right now I have a case of Tropicana bottled lemonade under my desk at work but snapple works well too. They also make a sugar free but it's not always available in cases at the store so I get what I can.
Andy's never seen the movie Xanadu and I have it on VHS. I may just suggest we watch that.

Nope. She's originally from Delaware. She can have a tiny bit of a "twang" after living there for so long but it's not really strong.
When I was a freshman in college my roommate, who was from near San Francisco, told our neighbor that she hated my accent. My neighbor, being from New York, replied "What accent?"

LOL! The New Jersey accent doesn't bother me. Midwestern accents bother me the most.
I was in Cleveland two years ago visiting some friends. We were sitting at Jacob's Field watching the Indians play the Rays when my friend said she was going to get some "pop". So, of course, I started making fun of her. "What? You're going to get some paaaap?" We had a laugh and she asked if I wanted anything. I told her I wanted a bottle of water. She gets real quiet and she says "You want what?" "Water." "Wooder? What's wooder?" So, she got me back.
