Cabaret Cares returns for its third season at the Laurie Beechman Theatre on August 18th. The very successful cabaret series that raises funds for Broadway Cares Equity Fights AIDS and Help Is On The Way Today. Created by cabaret producer Joseph Macchia Cabaret Cares brings together the best of the Broadway and Cabaret communities.

The series was created in 2005 to raise funds for Broadway Cares Equity Fights. Macchia is a long time volunteer for the organization and wanted to give back to his friends at BCEFA.

In 2005 the series raised over $9000.00 and after a year hiatus returned tbo the beautiful Beechman Theatre this time raising funds for both BCEFA and Help Is On The Way Today an organization that Macchia founded in 2006 to help and assist children living with HIV and AIDS in New York City.

On August 18th at 9:30 pm some of the most talented performers in New York will take to the stage at the Beechman Theatre to kick off season three of this wonderful series. Performing that night and hosting the evening from the Little Mermaid John Treacy Egan, as well as Robert Fowler (The Producers), Laura Osnes (Grease), Marty Thomas (Xanadu), and from the upcoming Off Broadway Play Judy and Me Peter Mac and Elyse Beyer. More performers to be announced. performers subject to change.

Good for Laura!  Maybe we need to start a Max/Laura thread to post whatever they are up to in it.  I am hoping we have lots to post about them in the not too distant future.

I'm glad you posted this. I didn't realize it is the same weekend of my anniversary! This would be a wonderful present!

I am also glad I posted it. Right after my post, the bidding took off. (I didn't realize the advertising power of this forum.).

Before my post, the bid was languishing at about $5 for a week. Had I not posted, someone would have walked away with a steal from a charity.

So often these events take place late on Sundays or Mondays. I can't attend them anymore but, boy, would I like to!
