I've never heard of a show being re-reviewed. That's interesting. I wonder if it's just one reviewer or many of them. I hope they don't invite Reidel. He's had it out for the show just because of the way it was cast. He'd give his own mother a bad review if she'd won the reality show.

I was at the show today. I was surprised by some of the changes, although they are not earthshattering, just a bit different. I have enjoyed seeing the show all the times I have seen it, this being the 5th time.
Let me say first my biggest surprise was Taylor Hicks. I was prepared not to really like him in the role but he was terrific! The audience loved him and he hammed it up and was fun and funny. I also had the pleasure of meeting him after the show when I went backstage. He was very friendly and gracious. He does have a charming smile. I really liked it when he was on stage.
Derek and Ashley did very good work considering how little time they have had to either perform with the cast (this was only their 3rd time with the whole cast) and how little rehearsal time they had. Derek plays Danny in a much different way than Max. I liked both of them, for different reasons. Ashley looks more like what people thought Sandy should look like because of the movie (the original Sandy was a brunette like Laura) and she is settling into her part. The new Rizzo played the part well, although not quite as edgy as Jenny Powers. The understudy who is in for Kenickie did a good job, with a different spin than Matt S. I did get to meet Derek and he was very sweet.
The energy in the show is still great and I was happy to have seen it again.
Glad you enjoyed it! Ashley and Derek are great and are only going to keep getting better and better! And you're right--she's always exactly how I pictured "Sandy." I think the majority of people know the movie better than the original play. I can't wait to see them perform! Thanks for the review! :)

I don't think Whoopi will be re-reviewed. They usually reserve "re-reviews" for longterm casting - Estelle Parsons and the new cast members of AUGUST: OSAGE COUNTY were just reviewed. The Eden Espinosa/Megan Hilty/Rue McClanahan cast of WICKED was reviewed. Ashley and Derek will probably be reviewed. Whoopi's only in XANADU for a month or so...

This will be a big surprise, but I was really hoping you would like Taylor.Isn't he handsome up close, and sweet? *sigh* anyway, I'll have my chance in less than a month!!! I can't wait.
