New Sandy Barbie

A week after Ashley's first performance as Sandy she got a package from the Mattel Toy Company. Any guesses? Yep the brand new "Grease Sandy Barbie" from the movie of course so she has the white dress on that ONJ wore to the dance. I don't think it has been publicly released yet. She visited Michael Cooper, president of Entertainment, whom she met during her audition for "Barbie Live In Fairytopia". Corporate headquarters for Mattel are in El Segundo, Calif. so after the Grease TV show she went for a visit. Perhaps they will send her the other Grease Barbies too. She has two now and I have a feeling..........

Nice if she could collect all the dolls created for the parts she has played isn't it? Now all she needs is an Amber Von Tussle Barbie! lol

I wonder if they are ever going to reissue the "sexy" sandy doll?  I haven't seen that anywhere but on Ebay.

I have a great little story that I'l like to share with all you Ashley fans.

I am a "Barbie Collector."  I won an auction of a 25th Anniversary Sexy Sandy Barbie the other day on Ebay.  It arrived and I set it on my desk in my office.
My 16 year old son, who is also, an Ashley fan, came in the room and saw the doll.

He said to me, "Did they make a Barbie Doll to look like Ashley."  I said, "No God made Ashley to look like a Barbie Doll."  He laughed, and said I was right!Ashley looks exactly like the 25th Anniversary Grease Sexy Sandy Barbie Doll.

Hopefully, one day I will get Ashley to autograph this doll. biggrin

RARE 25TH. ANNIVERSARY GREASE SANDY SHACK DOLL NICE ! - eBay (item 31007038017 Here's a link in case you have never seen the doll.

Ashley got another Barbie Friday, "Sassy Sandy". This doll is a collector and not available at stores so the person who bought this for Ashley had to go to great lengths and the bidding process to get it for her. Ashley is thrilled to have this doll and is so very grateful, thank you again.

Ashley's Dressing Room is going to look like the Barbie Department at FAO Schwartz before long!

I remember visiting FAO Schwartz in New York two summers ago, and a full size Barbie in Fairytopia model costume designed by Greg Barnes, was on display.  Ashley wore this costume in the Barbie Live Touring  Show.  It was beautiful!  The costumes in the show were fabulous!  I took my grandaughter to see that show when it came to town.  It was great!  The kids loved it!

I'm sure the person who sent this Barbie to Ashley, knew how much receiving this "out of production" doll would mean to her.

It's very obvious that Ashley has many people who love and care about her!  smile.gif It's easy to tell that she has a lot of very special people in her life!  smile.gif  Of course, it's not surprising because Ashley herself is such a wonderful person!

The picture on the left is the prototype. There were some revisions made, especially the shoes.

I went to the show when it came to Cleveland. This was Ashley's first tour and about 50 people from her hometown went and all sat together. It was family and friends and neighbors, it was a blast. That was two years ago in July. The tour closed in LA, after performing at the Kodak Theater in August. Four months later Ashley in LA auditioning for the Grease TV show.

I took my daughter and a friend to see Ashley play Barbie Fairytopia when they played at the Bass performance hall in Forth Worth. It was so much fun and the girls loved it at age 9 they were older than most of the girls in the audience. Many of them had ballet outfits or wings on and a lot of them had some kind of glowing wand or light that they waved during the show. Ashey's voice was beautiful even then and she played the part great...the girls all loved her.

She has quite a collection going doesn't she? Very nice, one of her visitors will have to take a picture of them all in her dressing room and post.

Welcome to the board, Suddenly_Sandy! smile.gif And that's great that so many people from Ashley's hometown were able to go together! What a wonderful experience it must have been to see her perform!

And Texfans5, I'm so glad that your daughter and her friend enjoyed the show!
