I've finally gotten the chance to sit down.  My grandmother's viewing was this evening and I'm just plain tuckered out.  I saw members of my mother's family that I don't even think I've met before.

Anyway, the reason I started this thread is because I was talking to one of my mother's cousins.  She introduced me to her daughter and we were talking about how I was trying to talk my mom into making plans for Friday night.  I think she needs to get out of the house for a bit because once all the planning and doing of the funeral and all are done that's when the real sadness starts to set in and I think she could use the distraction.  I mentioned how I was going out on Friday and they asked where I was going.  I said that I was going to see Grease on Broadway.  Liz, the daughter, spoke up saying that she had just seen the show last night.  And I said "With Derek?".  She said yes and that both leads were spectacular.

How truly random is that?

Well, I'm off.  We're leaving for the funeral at 7:30 in the morning.

Thanks. I got into bed not long after I posted and got up a little before 8. My younger brother is still here and he woke me up to borrow one of my DVDs at one point.

Hi Eris,hope that the sleep helped a bit,I've always found mental stress to be so much more tiring than the physical kind.Glad to hear that your brother was there too !

My mom was glad he showed up too.

We had a brunch and while we were getting ready to leave my brother took the crucifix from the coffin out of my mom's purse. Then he put it against my arm and declared it was "broken" because it wasn't smoking. Hysterical, huh?

Judy, I probably would have kept right on sleeping but I was concerned that if I slept too long I wouldn't be able to go to sleep later and then be tired at work.
