Just saw this article about Ashley bowling in the New York Times and thought I'd share! I love the picture! And I really enjoyed the quote about how Ashley is "channeling 'Grease 2'!" Enjoy! There are two pages, and you do have to join online, but it's very easy. And worth it!

I was asked if I was coming to play but, sadly, I have to be at work at 8:30.

Eris, you should go. (That whole work thing is over-rated anyways) Bowling is the funnest sport I know. I'm not sure that I would be able to make it there to coach, but I would give a go. Bowling with friends while raising money for a good cause and just simply having fun..........Sounds like a blast. Wish I lived closer to NYC, you would be able to count me in!!!!

My youngest son, who is in the navy and away from family, is having a ball bowling. he joined a league with friends, and it has helped him pass some lonely days. and I agree, work is way overrated.
Robyn is beautiful, sweet and very talented. She is going on tour with A Chorus Line and will be with her fiancee who is on tour with the production. I wish all the happiness and success to her and Clyde.
Don't you all think your point has been made? Eris was making a joke you did not appreciate, but it was meant as a joke and not to be taken seriously.
Remember, when you wish someone good luck on stage, you say, "Break a leg!" even though you mean quite the opposite.

If the words that were said were "Break a leg," we would not not have taken the comment the same way. I think all of us understand that in that case, someone is wishing the star good luck. What was written was instead extremely inappropriate. Most of us found it to be extremely harsh and hurtful.
Eris knows how we all feel, so let's not beat this into the ground. To forgive is divine! Let's spread a little love around the board because from Ashley's days at Hairspray: "Without love, life is like the seasons with no summer and without love life is rock 'n' roll without a drummer or Taylor Hicks and/or Ace Young!"
Now back to what this thread is about: The Rama Lama Ding Dong's did well this week, they're tied for 8th place out of 26 teams. Keep up the good work!

While you can speak for yourself and the other few who posted, "most of us" is a generalization that you cannot use. It was neither meant to be harsh or hurtful.
My response was because one response to Eris would have been sufficient, she is very intelligent and "gets it" and this thread has become one of Eris bashing, to what end? No one here has been more supportative of the Grease from the very beginning as well as the whole group from YTOTIW and certainly she has supported Ashley in going to see her in Hairspray as well as seeing her here. Was it not Eris who helped Ashley's sister to come to see the show in LA?

Can this be put to rest?
I'm aware of who I am speaking for. But I think people in general would find it a harsh comment. I'm not the only one who took it that way, and if it was intended as a joke, there have been plenty of opportunities to clarify the situation. And forgiveness implies that an apology was made. I am definitely open to forgiving, but I think that we need to realize that the comment was offensive. And I'm not judging Eris' background and what she did for Meghan--I'm reading the comment that was made and looking at that alone. In the context of this thread, it was not appropriate.
I love you guys, all of you. But I took it as a joke. I didn't see it as nasty at all.
Thanks, BBS! It may have been, but that is why if it was me, I would have taken the opportunity to clarify what I meant. Especially if I saw that people were taking it in a different way from what I meant.

First, I don't know if people in general would find this harsh, since I can only speak for myself, and do not presume to speak for others. Forgive? Why should we have to forgive anything? You need to have an apology? As Alexander Pope said, "To err is human, forgive divine."
I do not believe the comment was meant as offensive. As far as the context of this thread or any other, as long as it is not profane or obscene, who is anyone here other than the moderator to decide what is appropriate to put in a thread?

I seem to recall some of us Taylor fans offering to be Frenchy's understudy back when Taylor started in GREASE. I think I even made the connection to I LOVE LUCY, when Lucy tied up one of Ricky's dancers and locked her in the closet so she could dance with Ricky in his show. There was never any ill will toward Kirsten Wyatt. I think she's a doll. Just a silly little joke. As much as Eris loves GREASE, I'm sure she would never wish any of the cast anything but the best. I took it as a joke as well.

Let us agree to disagree and let this rest.
I only mentioned the forgiveness aspect to speak to Mama's comment. Of course Eris probably doesn't want or need our forgiveness. If it was me and I made the comment, I would have instantly regretted it and apologized.

Sounds good to me D&B! Let's just agree to disagree and move on. I guess it was the way I was raised that I have the ability to let by gones be by gones and allow forgiveness even when an "apology" is not said. It's an attribute that has helped me ten-fold in life!

It was a nasty comment...and it shouldn't have been made. Eris should have apologized for it! Many...many people are really upset about it.
Wow, I'm pretty new here, but even I understand Eris's personality enough to know that it was a joke. Like......she has a crush on Derek, and then she could play opposite him......
It was obviously not meant that she really wishes Ashley would have a tragic accident.

I respectfully disagree! There was nothing obvious about it. I, too, agree that it was not an appropriate comment....
I can just picture Eris twirling a long handle-bar mustache and raising her eyebrows up and down as she said it. I'll bet Ashley would think it was funny too.

The difference is in the term "tragic accident." Both may have been kidding, but "tragic accident" was a horrible term to use. It is just a terrible thing to say, and as a fan of Ashley, I took offense to it.

ALL of Ashley's fans took offense to it Kristen. Thanks for always supporting Ashley, Kristen! You truly do care about her and are her #1 fan!
