New song suggestion for "Grease?"
Permalink Closed

Just for fun, I thought it would be interesting to see which love song from the 50's you would like to see added to "Grease."  Please add your suggestions.  And if you can, see if you could find a clip of the song on YouTube so we can all hear it!  Have fun!    smile

The board has been relatively quiet, so I thought this would be a fun way to get people talking.

Sounds fun Kristen. Let me think a minute. Also, I will have to figure out how to link to Youtube.

You Send Me! by Sam Cook is my choice.

I think the Taylor Fans will love this version though!

If you don't want to watch the whole five minutes...Taylor starts singing two minutes into it.

Good thinking, Shadi!  Maybe since Taylor sang this on Idol, they can add it to the tour!  It would give Taylor more opportunities to sing in the show! smile

The last Grease revival actually took this route by adding Since I Don't Have You as a song for Sandy.

I couldn't find a video of Susan Wood performing the song I did find a few other "Sandys" singing it school productions of the show

This worked so well in the movie "Dirty Dancing" that I think Ashley and Derek should add it in to the show!  I think "Love is Strange" would be great with them performing it!  Can't you see them acting it out?

I think they are using it for Dirty Dancing shortly opening in Chicago and supposedly, coming to Broadway.

Derek might be okay for Johnny but I don't think Ashley is right for Baby. She's way too pretty. It's better served by an actress who is pretty without being "stunning". A big part of the plot was that Dr Houseman had two daughters - a "pretty one" and a "smart one". Baby is the "smart one". Baby's the kind of person who would be overlooked at first glance. Even if the dowdied Ashley down it wouldn't work physically.

I think you're right, Eris.  Maybe Ashley could be Penny in a few years.  She needs to be a little older, but she'd be great with the dancing!smile
