Alves returns to Toronto stage

Whatever forecasters throw his way, Alves no doubt can take it. He's got a personal warm front headed his way.

Next week, after the opening is out of the way, Robyn Hurder will arrive from New York to slip quietly into the part of Cassie -- and when Alves sings She's the One that night, it will have special meaning.

"We just got engaged in December," he says, adding that they plan to marry in Maui on Feb. 1

"Months of being apart is coming to an end," he says happily. "That, my friend, is certainly a dream come true."
