I could only listen to about 20 minutes of the interview. Felt bad for Laura...the interviewer just wanted to talk about himself!

She mentioned that she has a few events here and there.  She mentioned the Christmas program in Minnesota.  If I am remembering correctly, she also mentioned something coming up with the Boston Pops in the spring.

Yes, that was me. I was actually tempted to call back in to explain just how I managed to get "backstage" in LA. I was, also, tempted to tell the whole story about how I came to be in LA and meeting everyone for the first time. In my opinion it's pretty interesting but I didn't want to take too much time away from Laura.

Dallas kinda got on my nerves too because he was talking to me as if I didn't know anything about Broadway and I wasn't really sure how to handle it. Should I have interrupted and explained how many different Broadway shows I see or would that have been rude? I just opted to keep my mouth shut.

Well I would like to know the whole story. Please tell us Eris! Poor Dallas was so out of his element-I would try and cut him some slack. I don't think he has much of a future as an interviewer. Lol

I'll try to remember to share some of the details later. I have a bit of a headache right now so I'm going to wash my hair and lay down. But I will say that the story really lends credence to the whole "the wind from one door closing blows open another" idea.

I've probably mentioned this on the board before but I'll mention it again. On January 2, 2007 I was "let go" from my position as an inside sales rep for a plastics company. It wasn't a complete shock since one of my coworkers would tell me I was being fired every flipping day. I probably had grounds for a lawsuit with that but, in the long run, it wasn't worth it. I wasn't the only person let go that day - every salesperson who'd been with the company for more than a year was as well.

If this hadn't happened I wouldn't be here right now. When I first started seeing commercials for G:YTOTIW I thought the idea sounded ridiculous and I wanted nothing to do with it. I don't watch American Idol, So You Think You Can Dance, etc and didn't intend on watching this one.

The Thursday before the first live show I was up late doing laundry (or some other similar chore. I'm not 100% sure but for arguements sake we'll sake laundry). I was flipping through channels just looking for something to have on while I worked and I flipped to Bravo and heard a voice that I recognized but could not place. So I decided to watch until I figured out who it was. I soon realized I was watching one of the audition episodes (LA/Chicago) and by the time I figured out the voice belonged to Billy Bush I was hooked. After the episode ended they went right into the "Grease Academy episode" and I watched that.

Rather than remaining unemployed I opted to take a job in retail that I had recently been offered. So not only did I have a job but I had the flexibility to, more or less, come and go as I pleased.

If I hadn't lost a job that I hated I wouldn't have been up that late to have catch the repeats on Bravo and would never have watched the live episodes. Also, if I hadn't lost that job I wouldn't have been able to go to LA twice for "Danny's Night" and the Finale. I had no vacation days left thanks to a road trip that started in San Francisco and ended in San Diego so, even if I had watched the show, I wouldn't have been able to go to any of the tapings.

The wind from the door of that job slamming shut blew open the door that led to the wonderful experiences that the show brought and continues to bring me.

There's more to it...people going behind my back to send certain people myspace messages, accidental meetings, the fundraiser for Meghan, etc. The story of my job is only the tip of the iceberg. But if that doesn't happen the rest of it never happens.

Laura's doing some sort of Christmas thing with the church she attended when she lived there. I don't have the details handy but I'll post them when I do.

Here is the data of where Laura will be performing in the local Minneapolis area Christmas Show. It is at Living Word church in Brooklyn Park, a very large local church. It actually is not the church Laura attended when she lived here but that's O.K.

Living Word Christmas Show

When: Saturday, December 6, 2008 - Sunday, December 7, 2008

Description: Experience Living Word Christian Center's Christmas Show on December 6-7, which includes spectacular music, dance, lighting, and multimedia.The show is free and non-ticketed; it will take the place of the regularly scheduled weekend services. Childcare will be provided. Special guest Laura Osnes, star of the hit Broadway show Grease, will be performing. Invite all of your friends and family to this special holiday event!

Laura was just home to rehearse for two days for the Christmas show. I sent her back to New York early this morning on her birthday! Even though she was busy with rehearsal most of the time she was home, we got a nice dinner together last night and she got to sleep in her own bed at home last night. I'll take whatever time I can get and since our birthdays are just three days apart we also got to be together right around birthday time. Smile, smile, smile... She'll be home again in just a couple weeks for the actual program so I didn't even have to cry when I said goodbye to her. Happy holidays to everyone on this board.
