I saw a few of the members of the cast outside the Providence Performing Arts Center tonight when I was walking back from dinner (I go to college in Providence) and I wished them a good luck :)
I'm sure others will be along soon with more details, but from what I've been reading this morning, the first show in Providence was packed, and the show was dynamite! Can't wait for pictures.

Been reading lots of great things this morning about last nights show in Providence, sounds like it was fantastic, energetic and fun ! Kudos to the cast !
Fans have only one more month to see the show that brought "Grease Lightning" back to the Great White Way.
The Broadway musical "Grease" will give its last performance on Sunday, January 4. After more than 500 performances, producers have decided to focus on their first national tour.
The tour stars "American Idol" winner Taylor Hicks and was launched Tuesday in Providence, Rhode Island.
There's a video at the site: http://www.ny1.com/content/ny1_living/on_stage/90015/-grease--to-leave-broadway--continue-touring/Default.aspx
I'd love to hear more about how the tour show is the same/different than the Broadway show. I just saw "Legally Blonde" on tour last weekend and heard a lot of people comparing the cast members, sets, etc. What is the touring cast like? I look forward to reading more comments.
I'm not a huge Taylor Hicks fan but I read something somewhere that made me think he gets to sing one of his own songs within the context of the show. If I haven't misunderstood about his song, I'd like to hear where the song is placed and how it's received.
