One of the things that makes this forum a great deal of fun is the inclusion of parents, friends and relatives of Max and Laura and some of the other participants.
It gives everyone, regardless of their viewpoints, to have a rare opportunity to view the whole Broadway process from a fresh and relatively inside view.
I would like to suggest (at the risk of becoming the target for new criticism) that all of us--everyone regardless of which side of what controversy they represent--just set aside the devisive issues, stop argueing the sensitive points, and get back to enjoying the process of talented and likeable young people making a major big step in their attempt at a professional theatrical career. We don't know enough about each other's credentials to debate rights and wrong intelligently anyway. We're just feeding our own egos and spoiling the party.
What a tragedy it would be to lose the contacts we have with the performer's relatives etc just because we couldn't get along.
I, for one, intend to quit reading the argued points and start looking for more fun things to read and learn. I hope I have a lot of company.
Gramps....as much as I may disagree with you (this is a discussion forum...meant to discuss things. Both good and bad), I do feel to comply with your wishes. I have by far enjoyed reading the posts by Jane and Rachel and think that they are great people writing great things. It would be a tragedy if either or both would decide NOT to post anymore. I truly believe that both parents are Big-Hearted enough to look past all of the negative posts and keep the posts coming.
I will look back for the quote " If you have nothing nice to say................................"!!!!!
I totally agree with you. One of the reasons that I post here is because I love chatting with everyone. I have been blessed to enjoy chatting with Jane and Rachel they are sweet ladies with exceptional children. So I will do the same I will not respond to the negative. As an old song says "You've got to accetuate the positive, eliminate the negative, latch on to the affirmative and don't mess with Mr. InBetween. Shalom(Peace" ReneFran
We've had a lot of fun chatting together. I have appreciated talking with all of you as much as you've enjoyed chatting with Rachel and me. We've only had one unexplainable comment. That doesn't need to spoil all the fun.
Totally agree! if you look at some of the other Broadway forums, people are very nasty with what is said .They seem to think nothing of others that are posting or better yet that the person they are commenting about could be reading it.
Yes, this site is delightful. There really is plenty of room to have intelligent discussion while remaining mannerly and sensitive to others' feelings. Amazing, isn't it?
