I think you have great pics!

I'm back from my trip.  I really enjoyed the show!  Unfortunately, at the stage door, the security guy told us up front that we could take pictures of Max and Laura, but that we couldn't pose with them.  This must be a new request.  We were supposed to get our autographs then move out of the way so that others could get theirs.  I was so disappointed to not get my picture taken with them tears.gif , because I was close enough to get a good picture with them, too.  Anyway, I am one to follow the rules, so other than the autograph on the Playbill, here are my pics.  (not the best pics)

I did notice later that those who probably didn't hear the security guy were able to have their pictures taken.  Yes, I'm envious.  uuuggghh!!

AWWW! Wonder when they made that rule. hmm I'm going again on September 14 (thanks goodness for Ebay) and I was hoping to get another picture with Laura (because that really doesn't look like me in that pic hmm) and maybe this time one with Max too. Hmm... maybe they'll change their mind by then.... *wishful thinking*

Max and Laura will accomodate photo requests as long as the cameras are ready when they are, last I heard.

Just from what I saw, it looked like if you're there when the crowd dies down and Max and Laura haven't rushed off, you could probably get a pic in if the guard isn't looking.  I tried to get a pic when I saw others were getting theirs, but the guard had his hand on Max's elbow to get him moving along.  By the time I reached him and Laura again, the guard had already put them in the drive away car.

I'm not sure if that was just the guard's way to do "crowd control."

Good Luck!  I wish I lived in NY so that I, too can get tickets again.  I just can't spend the $ for another trip.

Rain and all, stage dooring was fun! Crowded, but not rowdy. Just nice fans with good spirits and many great cast members ready to give autographs. Here is a picture of my kids with their favorite cast member. We were at the Sunday, July 29 show.smile

Beautiful picture of the kids and Max, MaxFan. I'm considering moving OUR trip to spring break, instead of waiting until May or June. I may e-mail you for ideas about hotels, etc.

I have a TON of pictures from when i went...if someone could tell me how to post them, i will!

Also...yes, you can stage door beforehand, but they can be in a rush. What's funny though is to really pay attention to what the cast members look like WITHOUT their cosutmes...while we were waiting for the doors to open, I walked to the other end by the stage door to look at the posters, and max walked right by me! there was a huge line but no one seemed to even notice him but me! I just smiled and winked at him, and he smiled back and went on in.

After the show, the woman who played the teacher, Susan Blommeart, walked out of the stage door first and NO ONE in the crowd even noticed it was her! I shouted, Hi Ms. Lynch! and she turned and smilled at me and said thanks! I felt bad that no one even recognized her without her costume and makeup!

Also, just a tip, especially with this show...if you want to get up close to the barricades, walk out while they are doing the finale song, which is right after everyone takes their bows...most people are still caught up and are watching, which gives you the oppurtunity to get up front by the stage doors! If you wait too long there are massive amounts of people leaving the theater, and it gets packed, so there's no way in or out until it's over!

Good luck!

That is the neatest thing that you were able to give him a wink and he smiled back. I could picture it now. I went and sat in the third row on the right side of the audience.  Max come right to the edge of the stage and starts singing something and looks right at me. Or at least it seemed that way. I could not take it and had to look away. What a turkey...spend all that money for good seats...they were too good I guess! So I take a sort of pleasure in hearing a more ummm...successful encounter...so to speak.

Max looks a little tired in your picture. I hope he is getting enough rest, Laura too. It has to be exhausting.

Just curious, I read this on another board concerning the August 18 matinee.

The Bodyguard was really rude I thought. He kept having us hand our playbills to him, and then he'd hand them to Max and Laura so they didn't really know who they were signing for, so the playbills kept getting mixed up.

Is this how it is at the stage door now?  It was not like that when we were there.

Wow, that's harsh. When I saw it on the 11th, to my knowledge nothing like that was going on. I was in the little crowd of the last people Max & Laura signed for, and security just stood behind them.
Also, I asked Max if he was allowed to do pictures, and he said something along the lines of 'no, sorry' ...so that disapointed me. I'll do my pictures later!!!!

We went to the stage door the night we saw the show. I guess something was up and Max and Laura did not have a lot of time or is might have been due to the crowd out there, but we were not able to take pictures with them. It was ok though, because we got to meet them. Maybe next time!!!

Ok so I know that at some shows some people come out at intermission. Does anyone know if anyone in Grease comes out then? And if so: who? and is it crowded then?

That's a shame they're not allowed to take pictures with people anymore. I was lucky I got one when I did. That's a shame.

music7chick, from what I saw, no. They don't come out during intermission. There would probably be a mad rush and it could get dangerous since the theater is so small to begin with.

As far as I know, they are still taking pictures with people.

music7chick - technically, actors aren't allowed outside during intermission.

The instant commercial take-off of her Grease does not surprise Marshall. "Our first few weeks have been really terrific. I think it's a combination of the phenomenal popularity of Grease and the fact that this production stars two people that people know. People want to come to see people they know on stage. They know Max and Laura. They're rooting for them. They voted for them. Both get entrance applause every night, and, after the show...you should see...there are 200-300 people out there at the stage door waiting for their autographs.

I saw Grease last night and stage-doored. The crowds weren't that bad. As to taking pictures with Max and Laura, a security guard said we weren't allowed to. And even if you wanted to break the rules, you couldn't because he followed around them saying "Have what you want signed ready. You can take pictures of them, but you can't pose with them." A little bit of a disappointment, but it was still cool to get them to sign my poster. :)

I've heard and seen good things about the Grease stage door. I'm sure it can't be as bad as the RENT stage door right now, haha! That was interseting.

I was just wondering , though, for a decent place in line were people leaving AT curtian call? Because i'd assume that's what you would have to do. I did that for RENT and we barly got there in time for a good place.

BwayBaby91 - I think some people left at curtian call, but you don't have to to get a good place. If you want to meet and get autographs from people other than Max and Laura then you might want to so you can get up front because they aren't out that long. Just remember to use the like six side doors because they let you out right by the stage door.
