I am going to see Grease next Wednesday. I want to drive up I95 from Baltimore and park somewhere in New Jersey and take the PACE train into the city. Does anyone know what is the easiest PACE train to drive to. I want to find somewhere that I can just get off the interstate and park and then take the train into the city. If anyone knows, please respond. thanks, Kay
I live right outside of Trenton and when I usually take the train into NYC I take NJ Transit. NJT doesn't run 24/7 so if we knew we'd be in the city after the last train left (like on NYE) we'd drive up to Newark and took the PATH train which does run 24/7. That's the best advice that I can give you. If there's something before Newark I don't know about it.
Oh, and another option is to just stop at any of the stops along the North East Corridor. I-95 N turns into 295 S and the Hamilton Train Station is less than 15 minutes from the PA/NJ border just off of 295. By golly I can't remember the exit number but it's the first Sloan Avenue exit. Ummm...65 B, I think? This is NJ Transit and it doesn't travel all night. The last train is at 1:08am, I believe, and the next one isn't until 5:30am. So this is another way to go unless you plan on dawdling in the city.
Well I always drive as I would not want to miss all the exhilerating near misses in the city. I 95 to the Lincoln Tunnel...then a few blocKs to West 47 th. Park in a garage across the street from the theatre for 30 dollars or so for the day, less for a shorter time. Cost less on the next block. But there is a lot of traffic leave a lot of extra time. Any city near a train station in New Jersey, and close to NYC, is difficult to park in during the week because everyone has the same idea. of course, the further out you go the easier it gets.
