Well, our beloved Andromyda has arrived in NYC safely and without any delays. She is currently in the shuttle on her way to Max's apartment...oops I mean hotel while chatting with me on the phone.

She's very excited about her big day tomorrow. It's starting with at make over a Sephoria in Times Square, then dinner, followed by Jenny Powers' appearance on Seth's Chatterbox (http://www.sethsbroadwaychatterbox.com/home.htm). After that it will be time to hurry over to the B-A to see Max knock her socks off as Danny in Grease.

I will be meeting up with at the stagedoor after the show where we will mock...I mean...befriend Max.

So that's the report for the day!

Hope Andy has a great time.  Keep her under your wing!  NYC can be a bit "scary" at times.

Sounds like she's going to have a fun night! If there's anyone who can claim to be Max's number 1 fan (after his family of course), that would be Miss Andromytta. I actually haven't stage doored myself (first preview night looked too crowded and chaotic for me, and the 2nd show I saw for my mom's b-day ended with a rush to the train station)...almost tempted to come on over tomorrow night just to join the fun. My roommates and I will be a few blocks over watching Altar Boyz, hopefully for 20 bucks. The 20 at 20 Off-Broadway special started this week. Give Andy a high-five for us Eris!

Well, I just got back from running errands. I've picked up my shoes from the shoe fixer dude, I went food shopping, and I even got myself some Rita's. At some point I'll get changed and head over to the train station. I'm debating on which train to catch. The 8:01 would get me to Penn Station at 9:15 while the 8:37 would get me there at 9:56. My concern is that the 8:01 would get me there too early and that the 8:37 wouldn't give me enough time to walk to the B-A.

I was leaning that way myself.  My concern is if I take the later train there will be a delay or something.  If I take the earlier train and there's a minor delay I'll still be okay.

Hi! I'm home! Ug, I'm tired and I have to be at work by ten. Fun times!

I'm not going to go into TOO many details because I'm sure Andy wants to be the one to tell the story but it was a fun night.

I got to the B-A at about 9:30. I probably would have been fine catching the later train but no harm no foul. I hung out outside the stage door chatting on the phone. Not long after they started setting up the barricades someone came up to me and said "Are you Eris?". When I said yes NYC introduced himself and we chatted for a bit. Shortly after that the screaming started inside suggesting that curtain calls had begun. I secured a spot right by the wall on the left side of the door (if you're facing the building) and I was standing so I could save a spot for Marj. An older woman came up to me and asked if the young girl she was with could have the spot I was saving for Marj. Now, I'd purposely saved her a spot closest to the wall because I knew it was where Max would start. There was also space on the other side of me so I explained that I was saving the spot on my left for my friend who was still in the theatre but she could have the spot on my right. And there was plenty of room at that point. I suspect this wasn't the answer they wanted to hear and I was really in a tough spot. I don't want to be rude to the little girl but the reason I was there was to save that very spot for Marj. They eventually moved a little further down. Maybe to get away from the big mean lady lol.

Not long after Marj showed up we spotted Nate (Laura's husband) by the stage door. We started calling his name and he came over to chat. I'd met Nate a few times previously and he stayed with us for a bit. It was funny because people were looking at us like 'Who are they?". It was pretty cool.

Nate went inside and shortly after that the cast started coming out. I took some pictures but I won't post them all tonight. When I get home from work I'll share more. I promise!

Before Max and Laura came up the guard told the crowd that they could not pose for photos and to put their pens away because Max and Laura already had pens. The guard said they would be starting on our side (with Marj) and would work their way around. Finally the moment came and Max and Laura were among us.

Max walked over to us and spotted me first. I could see the recognition in his eyes and he said "Hi, Sweetie". Then he turned to Marj and said "Hi, Marjory!" Frankly, I'm surprised she didn't pass out. But she kept her cool and actually spoke to him this time. As for the rest of their encounter I'll let Marj post that.

While Max and Laura were signing Nate came back out and chatted with us some more. I asked him if Laura would get mad if we took a picture together. He laughed and said she wouldn't. So we posed together. How fun. I;m posting thatpicture and it didn't quite come out the way I thought it would. I look, in a word, slightly demented. Like many other women here I;m sure I'm very picky about the way I'm photographed. I hate my smile and I usually give the camera my profile. Usually it works out fine. Tonight it didn't. Marj said I looked "Rizzo-like". Gah. lol

After we left the B-A we decided to sit down and get a drink. We stopped in the Hard Rock and just drank and chatted for a bit before heading back to Penn Station so I could catch my train. We're walking past the Red Lobster on 7th when I see a VERY familiar blonde sitting out front. I poke Marj and say "Isn't that?" She turns and look and says "Oh my!". It was Ashley Anderson.

I approached her cautiously because I wasn't sure if she even wanted to be recognized. I said "Ashley" in a questioning tone and she looked up and said "Yes." When I told her that we'd met at the Grease wrap party and I was on her myspace she seemed to remember me. Or at least she pretended to. But the three of us chatted for a bit and she was just the sweetest thing. We'd met before but we really didn't get much of a chance to talk. The finale was just a crazy night.

We eventually parted ways and I finally made it back to Penn Station where I said goodbye to Marj and got on the train back to Hamilton.

So that's the quick version of the story. When Marj gets back online I'm sure she'll have lots to share.

Eris, thanks for sharing your part of the story. How great that you 'spotted' and spoke to Nate and Ashley, also. Can't wait to hear details from Marjorie.

(You look pretty in the picture, Eris -- almost... secretive. (And that's a good thing, right? Oh, and Marjorie, I love the new do!!)

Aw,I'm so happy for Marjory. She's been waiting for this for months and to think that Max remembered what a sweetheart. I can't wait to hear the whole story. I admit to being a little jealous. Do you think you could be my bodyguard when I come to NYC to see Grease. Notice I said when, not if. I love Marjory's new glasses and do also. Excited to hear all of the details.aww

The necklace I was wearing is the necklace my mom was wearing the night she met my father. When she saw I was wearing it she asked me if I'd met my future husband. I told her that I had a torrid affair with a married man instead. She didn't think I was funny. lol

Only Marj was allowed to take a picture with Max and that's only because he spoke up.

Sorry I didn't post the rest of my pictures today. I ended up going back to the city to hang out with Marj after I got off work. And she had a surprise for me when I got there. Hairspray tickets! The show, of course, was amazing and Ashley was better than she was the last time. I could see that she had more energy this time than when I was at the show last month. She was running a fever of 101 the last time I was at the show. Even Lance was better this time around. He wasn't great but I can definitely see a marked improvement.

After the show we went to the stage door and waited for Ashley. I'd bought a poster to get signed because I wanted something more than a playbill for Ashley. While she was at the other end Lance was at our end posing for pictures. It was a tight crowd so I had to practically bend over backwards to get out of the way of this one chick who was having her picture taken with Lance. And he put his hand on my shoulder to make sure I didn't fall. After he was gone I started joking that I was never going to wash my shoulder again *snorts*

After he was gone Ashley worked her way down to our end and she was smiling and saying hi to everyone. When she got near where we were standing she turned to say hi to me and then did a double take. She got this big smile on her face and said "HEY!" She finished signing and we chatted for a bit. She told me how Ashley had told her that she ran into that "Kristin girl". And then she asked me how excited I am about Derek's show. Everyone always brings up Derek to me. lol

Eventually she had to go and we said our goodbyes. Jersey Boys is right across the street from Hairspray and when we crossed I could see John Llyod Young (Tony Award winner for playing Frankie Valli) so I wandered over to say hi. I held out my hand and told him my name. Her got a look of recognition on his face and he says "I know you! You're Jon's sister!" So THAT was pretty much awesome! John and I chatted for a bit and he told me to tell my brother to email him. And all the way back to Penn Station I kept saying "I met John Lloyd Young!"

Marj is leaving NY tomorrow...err today. She's taking the train down to see her father in Delaware for a few days before heading back to Alabama. She had an amazing trip full of Greasers. Too bad she couldn't meet "hubby"! lol

I'm not online for very long, i'm at a friend's house. i'll be back at my house on thursday, where i will blog my experiences, but i just have to say, both of the shows i saw were incredible. and max was just amazing. his performance in the show, and how sweet he was to me afterward...it was just awesome. max impresses me more and more. he didn't have to be so nice to me. in fact, if it was me, i'd probably hide from someone who acts as crazy as me! *lol* anyway, i will post more in a few days.

Of course Max would be nice to his number one fan! You're a pretty special person. I can't imagine that he would treat you any other way. I know he appreciates all of the support he receives. I 'm sure knowing how much everyone one loves you makes the tired and I'm sure aching body just kind of fade in to the background. Isn't it wonderful that Max not only has loyal fans that have been supporting him since the TV show but he has new fans?smile I'm looking forward to hearing all of the details about your wonderful trip to NYC.

Andy/Marj,

Thank you so much.  It took me quite a while to read your story, because I had to stop and CRY/get kleenex throughout it.  What an engaging, fun, humerous story.  So glad you had such a wonderful time.  Hey, I could maybe be Max's number 2 fan, (except I'm in hiding since my friends think I've totally lost it--they never saw the TV show and just humor me when I get started).

Thanks again for sharing.  I can't wait to see for myself.

Hope you got more pic's to share. smile
