Passed the stage door today, having seen the show across the street. Was very surprised to see how small the crowd was. Looked as though Max and Laura were taking photos.

Just a heads up to anyone going in the next few days.

Hi Mr. E, I often wonder how big or small is a "normal" crowd at the stage door. When I was in NY, there were only 5 of us waiting after a evening show of Jersey Boys, and we almost left because we waited for more than 45 mins. in the pouring rain!

I remember the street being blocked because of all the people. That was over the summer.

Some of the excitement that was generated by the tv show has died down a bit, but, I don't think I would want to stand out in the cold for anyone, well, Johnny Depp maybe.....

The stagedoor crowd has moved over to the Schubert to see Broadway's new darling, Clay Aiken.
The few comments at BroadwayWorld are highly favorable.

it amazes me that Clay Aiken has gotten good comments from his run at Spamalot
I heard he was absolutely terrible
and dont get me wrong I am rooting for him - I was definitley one of the 13/14 year olds swooning over him when "Invisible" came out
but from what Ive heard he seems a tad too cocky up on the broadway stage

I have heard that Clay Aiken is excellent in Spamalot. I am going to be seeing him in April (as well as Grease) and I am very much looking forward to seeing them both.

I hope you're right.  My teens want to see Spamalot so we're seeing that and Grease over spring break.

I know nothing about Spamalot, but he may be playing a cocky character.

I've never really heard him sing, as crooners are not my cuppa, but I saw him on an interview show and "5th Grader", and he was a pleasure to watch....relaxed, comfortable, witty and charming. He has the basics for Acting, and I'll be interested to see what the general verdict is on his legit debut.

He was quite fine in Spamalot. Nothing terribly special, but he didn't make a fool of himself.

I saw him on 5th grader as well. I do not follow music at all but I knew who he was. It surprised me that he was so down to earth, pleasant, charming and bright. Not what I expected after hearing so many not so complimentary things about him. BTW I got tickets to Wicked for Christmas and saw it last week. It was very touching to say the least, and we really enjoyed it. Though the tickets may be tough to get they are worth it if you are in the area. We sat in the second row but on the side, partial view....but still a great view. But my sister told me that a friend of hers went to see it ans walked out. To each his own I guess. one thing I want to give Kudos to the actor who played a professor...he was outstanding.
