I was at the performance last night (April 6, 2008) and first off I have to say that it was AMAZING. I was blown away by everyone. I was lucky enough to get to sit front row center, and, despite hearing of others reports that it was too close, I would not have traded my seats for the world. Mainly because during 'Those Magic Changes', right near the end, the entire cast (well, male cast), was down on the stage and they sang to me! Needless to say, I was pretty excited. I had heard of Ryan (Doody) giving out high fives during this song, but nothing else. Has this happened to anyone else (or has anyone else seen this happen)? I'm just curious to know if this was something they do every show... If not, they should!
I sat in the front row too, but i was a few seats from the center. it is a little confusing because on ticketmaster there is another row in front of the front row... so i was surprised when i got there! i agree that it is fun to sit there, you can see everything in their costumes with such detail. the only negative is you can have trouble seeing some of the stuff like when danny and sandy are in the car at the drive in.
To answer your question, at the one I went to there wasn't anything special like that, as far as I can remember the singers did not really interact with the audience at all during the play.
