I know your job has become a lot more taxing the last few weeks and I just wanted to take a moment to thank you for keeping this place as peaceful as it was before certain people joined the Grease cast.

When I arrived home last night from an evening in NYC the place looked like a daycare but when I logged on after waking up order had been restored.

I know you've had to do more work lately and I wanted to give you props, "Daddy".

The unfortunate part of this situation is that soon there will be more new people in Grease, and their fans are going to want to talk about them too. Most people on this board are here for Max and Laura. What happens when they are gone? Will Admin allow new people to sign on to the boards or chase them off too just because the old posters don't like them.

It's not a question of allowing the fans of different people to join the board.  The problems on the board have been caused by people who come here specifically to cause trouble.  To pick fights with the fans of Grease's latest cast member.  To pretend to be fans of that cast member but they're just troublemakers.  Those are the people who have caused the disturbance.  Not the true fans.

Oh I see. So it's all nice and sanitized now. I remember a while back there was a big bruhaha that chased people off the boards and that instigator was not removed. Is that fair? In fact he makes no bones about being a "Grease Hater" yet he is allowed his opinion.

I do know of someone who is not a troublemaker who has had trouble creating an account.  I'm not aware of what is being done on that level but it seems we may have an imperfect system in place currently.  But I believe attempts are being made to keep the peace on this board and not simply cowtowing to the "wants" of the long time posters.  I, for one, welcome new people and new ideas.  But I don't welcome attention seekers who simply want to fight with others because they feel "tough" due to the anonimity given to them by their computer.

Perhaps instead of the current system maybe a "trial membership" could be instituted.  I don't know.  I don't have the answers to what will help the board but I do believe things will get better.

LOL!! People! What does it take to make you all happy?? Tell me what more I can do at this point?? Jesh. If there was a troublemaker in the past, I don't recollect getting notified about it. Or shall I say receive 100 e-mails about it in a 24 hour period. I know you think all admins are computer robots here to protect and serve you round the clock, but - news flash - you are all adults and should know how to handle yourselves.

As for new users - no, I am not allowing ANYONE at this point due to the recent nonsense as and don't think you would either after the ridiculous past two debacles. Until I can sit here round the clock and watch you like a hawk, no new users. Crickets are a far better sound than whining and FAR superior to the recent chatter. I feel really bad for our Greasers that have been here since day one to have to endure this and I suspect they want a little peace too. When I am ready, I will open the flood gates and have a whack-a-mole banning spree again. Right now, I am just a little over it.

Incidentally, it is the weekend, and given that I am a human, I am going to enjoy my night. Hope you do too.

Thanks for posting this.  I have had people ask me about not being able to create an account.  Now I have some sort of answer to give them.

Perhaps when you do start allowing people to join again what if you required a current poster to "vouch" for them?  I've seen that done on other board with some success.  Just an idea really.  Like I said - I don't have all of the answers and I doubt any single person does either.

I am fairly new here, but spent some time reading through past posts.  I think I remember reading those posts from the "self-proclaimed" Grease Hater.   Just can't figure out why he (or she) is allowed to disagree with people, and others aren't.  In my opinion, everyone should be allowed to voice their opinion, just not the "veteran" members.  And the veteran members don't have the right to make decisions about who stays and who goes.  I personally know people that were banned from here that should not have been banned.  It's too bad too, because some of them had a lot of great things to say!  biggrin

First off - thanks to the admins for this board.  I am a lover of Grease from way back.  My niece was in the production of Grease at her High School (and she played the part of Frenchie).

Then I want to say - "NONIE" - I haven't talked with you in so long.  I hope that all is going well with you.  We used to chat on the Idol Forums a lot, but I think we've been off for awhile.  I was glad when I was approved to come on here and saw the last poster was "nonie".  Missed you.

If you want to get to know the people on the boards you can go back 20 or more pages and read all the posts from the very beginning. Undoubtedly you will learn a lot. I think it starts in May or June of 2007 and everyone was filled with anticipation for the Grease opening. Enjoy!
