Kirsten Wyatt is very talented and has no need of an understudy. In fact, this whole cast is filled with talented performers who don't "need" understudies.

It was a joke as in "one day understudy" Sorry I certainly didn't mean to offend anyone and am 100% certain that Kirsten Wyatt is the best. Kirsten was in You're A Good Man Charlie Brown and know she has lot of experience in touring as well.

I thought an understudy was a person who studied a part to replace the usual actor, if necessary. Is that no longer correct?

Well, you can understand why I read it the way I did. There have been many backhanded remarks about other performers in this show suggesting they aren't good enough to share the stage with "God" by "Taylor fans". Many, if not all, of the comments have been deleted by the admin and many of the offenders were banned when we had the mass banning not long ago.
Many of the long time posters here have been in the position of having to defend the talented members of this cast because there have been people who felt they paled in comparisson to Taylor. And, of course, they don't.

Eris,
Maybe now you understand the way we (Taylor's fans) feel when people follow us from place to place on the net just to bash and trash him. In spite of the banning recently, some of them still remain....or are back with new names. You get a little defensive after a while. Maybe we're not so different after all.
If we tend to get a little overzealous in our defending of Taylor, it's just the result of the constant barrage of insults. And quite frankly, some of the regulars here are pretty quick with the insults. As I said yesterday, maybe everyone needs to reel it in a little bit.

That is quite allright, I understand completely. "I come bearing gifts" I'm sorry for anyone that has joined this site for any other reason than to support Grease and Taylor. Taylor will be gone and then there'll be another Teen Angel. Long-time posters should not have to put up with any disrespect.
It's exhilarating when the crowd applauds ALL the performers at the end of the night Their faces radiate satisfaction and we acknowledge how hard they all have worked.
Even if Taylor's manager did approach Grease...that's what managers do! Obviously, Grease thought it was a good idea, and they were so right. He adds a brilliant star turn near the end of the show, and he will be a stabilizing factor during the coming transition.
I think it's admirable that a concert headliner would be willing to start small in a new medium. I would expect a name performer to have his manager search for a starring role, befitting his Ego, which happily does not seem to afflict Taylor. Calling him an out-of-work musician is amusing. Actors/singers/dancers are out-of-work most of the time, and I don't see any disparaging remarks made about them around here.

Bless you, Ray. You seem to be the voice of reason around here. This is the strangest message board I've ever been on. I'll be in the city at the end of July to see Grease. Can't wait!

BTW, Taylor's taking a break today since the theater is dark to participate in the Autism Speaks celebrity golf fundraiser at the Winged Foot Golf Club (Mamaroneck) for Autism. Details at www.soulthing.blogspot.com

Taylor's never ceases to amaze me with his charity work, especially for children.

I always thought he seemed kindhearted. That's nice.

According to the article I read, Taylor supports Autism charities because a close friend of Dr. Hicks had a child with autism. In spite of what others would have you believe, Taylor's a nice young man. All he ever wanted was to have his voice heard. It's so unfair that so many want to ruin it for him.
