She was one of the kindest, warm-hearted ladies you could ever meet. She went to see Grease on Taylor's opening night. She came back with glowing words about "ALL" of the cast. She is the lady who left work the day they put up the billboard of Taylor and took the picture that was posted on here. Out of respect for this special lady, could we please put a hold on the sniping.....at least for one night. Thank you.
This is the perfect reason to put the sniping aside. What was her name? Deb? Something with a D?

Her nickname was Dee Dee. Thank you both for your sensitivity.

This is definitely the place to post this message. You all have my deepest sympathy! How sad for all of you!

Botay,
I can't think of a better place for this post. It helps to put a lot of things into proper perspective.
For Dee Dee

Dee Dee has seen Grease a couple times in the last few weeks and from what I understand was going to go see it again next week end. I was looking forward to meeting her in August when I come to NYC. She was a huge fan of Taylor.

For Dee Dee
Aragall, I think all of us are in a numbed state right now....She was so excited about going to see Grease and Taylor again this Sunday and again in August with the rest of the gals that are going.
From what I've read this evening, Dee Dee led a very quiet, stay at home life before Taylor. Her love for him and his music got her up, out and really having fun and enjoying life again. I'm so glad she had a chance to see him in GREASE before she left us.

I'm sorry for your loss, and I think it's time for the sniping to be put to rest permanently.
Putting the insane fan wars to rest would be the most precious tribute we could pay to Dee Dee. If only everyone would be willing to let it go.
I'll let it go if they quit following us around.
Let it go because life, as Deedee knew, is all to short. Let it go because no matter who or what "it" is, some people will love and others will not the same person, music, show, etc.
Let it go because we are adults who can ignore things that we so chose to if we are able to act adult enough. Let it go because we don't have to change other people's minds about something in order for us to be able to take pleasure in it.
Let it go.
May the angels embrace DeeDee and give comfort to her family.
I'd never met DeeDee (though I was supposed to in August) or even talked to her on the phone, but yet I "knew" her as I do so many other cyber friends. She was a wonderful, fun, caring lady. I think we're all still in a bit of a state of shock over it. My thoughts constantly turn to her daughter and grandson and the pain they are going through. Thank you to all who have expressed sympathy.

Ticketmaster used to, but not lately, state that Max or Laura would NOT be performing at a certain show. There is no such statement about Taylor not performing on July 3rd. Imagine getting to the theater and finding out. Of course, you can get a refund or exchange, but what about the rest of it, when it could have been so easily avoided.

It's a shame if people bought tickets specifically to see Taylor. I read on another forum that he called in that morning with a throat ailment, which he does get from time to time.
We've been saying, since Taylor took the role, that we doubted he'd be able to do Grease on July 3rd. (We said the same thing about Wolf Trap too. Thank goodness they announced his withdrawal from that within a week of him taking the Grease gig.) The July 3rd date should never have ever been listed on his My Space page to begin with, and whoever answers the phone at the theater should have been advised he wasn't going to be there. People who called just two weeks ago to check before they bought tickets were told by the box office that Taylor was listed on the schedule to perform on July 3rd.
I was still harping "Don't buy the tickets." IMO there was no way he could miss that rehearsal/show on the 3rd. I know people were sick of my preaching about it, but I hated to see anyone plan a visit to NY, specifically to see Taylor on that date. Finally, they took it off his MySpace and the THHQ schedule. Ray is right, any venue selling tickets should be informing people before they purchase. It's common sense and good business sense to keep people happy.
Asure, I followed your advise and I appreciate you alerting us about July 3rd. I had planned to attend then because it is my birthday but then when I read your post I realized that was not a good date. I'm attending July 19th and will enjoy Taylor and the whole cast. Thanks again.
I also heard about Dee Dee. So sorry for her friends and family. I do hope that her last days getting to see Taylor in Grease made the end of her life enjoyable. Well, obviously from what I have heard, it did just that.
Sorry, but, I am new here to this board...what Chris are we talking about here? Is he a fill in actor? Certainly we aren't talking about the little short man from AI that came in 4th? I do hope that he would not be brought up here if that is the case. Goodness! This is about Taylor...and Grease...and the actors involved...etc..
I think Taylor makes the show...and the wonderful reviews and articles written are just the beginning for Taylor Hicks. He is fantastic on stage...the best entertainer I have seen and I have been to many plays and concerts in my life. He just has that X factor.
