Tomorrow, Friday, they have a rehearsal with the cast. That should make for an interesting blog.

Yes, but it makes it a long weekend, since they normally do two shows on Sat. and Sun. so they normally have a 5 show weekend. With the rehearsal, it's a 6 show weekend. The cast will be pooped on Monday!

Ashley is rehearsing during the day and working at night for Hairspray. Two shows on
wednesday and two on Saturday. Don't know how that girl does it. The week between the two shows will be like vacation for her.

Wow! That is a lot of work! I bet it will all be worth it though when she steps on the stage for the first show on the 22nd! She'll be great!

Haha...I don't actually edit his blog.  Otherwise it'd be a lot cleaner   What I meant was that I should volunteer.

I've seen Derek and Ashley performer separately but never together.  It'll be nice.

And I agree--Ashley is a beautiful girl! But what makes her so special too is what a beautiful person she is on the inside as well as the outside! She's such a sweet person! :)

I don't know how they get it all together so quickly.

I'm sitting here with about five minutes left on my lunch hour and I was rereading Stockard's comment about them getting it together so quicky and it reminded me of something that happened to me. I was in an independent film and the day I walked on the set I was handed a pair of scrubs and told I would be playing a nurse. I had to put a tube up someone's nose and take their blood pressure. I think the last time I took someone's blood pressure was with my Fisher Price doctor set and I had about three minutes to master both of these tasks. And it wasn't "oh, you're at the doctor let's take our time". I was an ER nurse. Everything had to be done "STAT". The hardest part was the rubber gloves. I don't know how people can get anything done while wearing them. They were loose on my hands and the tape kept sticking to them.

Ashley and Derek should be glad they don't have to put tubes up the nose of an actress they admired when they were little.

The area where Derek is from is really supporting him--isn't this nice?    It's great to see that "hometown support!"  I know that Ohio is equally proud of Ashley!

Winfield show choir hosts bus trip to New York

NEW YORK -- You've voted for him. You've cheered for him. Now's your chance to see Putnam County's Derek Keeling perform as Danny in "Grease" on Broadway.

Winfield High School General Admission Show Choir boosters are sponsoring a "Greased Lightning" bus trip to New York to see the musical on Wednesday, Aug. 13.

It's a one-day trip with no hotel stay. A spot on the trip is $190, which includes an orchestra seating ticket to the show and a seat on the bus.

Participants will get some free time in the city to shop and dine. After the performance, Derek Keeling and possibly other cast members (which include "American Idol" winner Taylor Hicks) will meet with the group.

This article about Aubrey O'Day mentions Ashley taking over the role of "Sandy" in "Grease." I still think that Ashley will be the best Amber that "Hairspray" ever had!!! And she'll be awesome in "Grease!"
