Autumn wrote this on her MTV blog right after the last show:
oooh snap! Posted recently
hey... i just have a quick few seconds, but... somehow i came off a little snotty in this episode and i am very sorry. in no way, shape or form do i think i am entitled to a leading role on a broadway. i have been very grateful for every step in my career and believe me.... i am the FIRST person to criticize my performances, and i know that there is a never ending list of improvements that i will continue to work on for myself. i am in no rush to be on broadway.... i know it will happen when it's supposed to. be it this show or something else in the future. i am so thankful for this opportunity and am once again so saddened and frustrated at how the editing makes it look as if our cranky outbursts are such prominent parts of the competition. it was actually an experience filled with love, admiration and respect for each other. there is a LOT of laughter edited out for "dramatic purpose". and i love the girls in the house... a lot of the frustration in my interviews came out of actual frustration ABOUT the interviews. those interviews are done way past our bedtimes and we are cranky and tired. again, just wanted to say i'm sorry that it looks like i was trying to discourage the girls or claim that i "deserve" a broadway role more than any of them. i absolutely DO NOT believe that and those comments were taken out of much more constructively toned conversations. anyway.... good night... and thanks again and again for all the love and support!!! autumn
I was so glad she won. Autumn has a lovely voice, but she just didn't come across as Elle in that final audition. And what's with all the Woo's and squeals? Annoying!
Bailey really does have the Elle personality and she's adorable.
So question. If Bailey now is replacing Laura Bell starting tomorrow, (why not tonight?), who will be playing Elle in the tour? Do you guys know?
Becky Gulsvig will be playing Elle on the tour. Lauren is her understudy and is in the ensemble. Rhiannon is Margot on the tour. In the Broadway show, Autumn will be in the ensemble and will be Bailey's understudy.

I LOVE BAILEY!!!! I'm SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO happy she won!!!!! She was my pick from the get-go, yay!!!!! Yes, I agree: Autumn was beyond annoying, those Woo's and squeals just didn't do it for me, ugh. Bailey is just Elle, she is perfect for the part. I know she starts tomorrow night, since the show is dark Monday's and Tuesday's. And yes, Becky Gulsvig is playing Elle on tour. I'm soooo thrilled-----but can I tell you a secret? I KNEW it was Bailey as of Sunday afternoon----my sister and I went to Legally Blonde's matinee and saw Laura Bell Bundy get out of a SUV with Bailey in tow So we pretty much concluded that Bailey had the part, double yay!!!! But it was still thrilling to actually watch the show last night, I'm glad I taped it, I want to re-watch tonight since I was tired from being in NY and was half falling asleep by the time it finally came on. GO BAILEY!!!!!!!
Yes, I was so glad they picked Bailey! Hopefully in the weeks of rehearsal they have helped her polish the voice. She really outdid Autumn in every department other than the singing last night. Autumn just never sold me on Elle, and the comment to the judges about how it would be great to be a sorority girl was totally unbelievable. lol
Anyone want to venture a guess as to why Christian Borle never appeared on the show? Seems like just about everyone in the cast was on at some time or another. Guess he doesn't like reality show casting?

Yes, go Bailey----I'd like to make another trip to NY to see her; she blew me away last night, and it was very special that their families were in the audience, awwwwww. She TOTALLY outdid Autumn last night, I really feel she outdid her in singing as well, but that's just me; I really love Bailey and am kind of prejudiced! I want to re-watch the tape later on to see that Autumn/Sorority Girl comment part....very interesting!! As for Christian Borle, hmmmm, my guess (and from what I've heard) he didn't want to be on the reality show....HE was incredible as well on Sunday when I saw the show, I was happy to get to see him in person----very good actor/singer!
Well so far I have read several very positive (fan) reviews of Bailey. I am really glad to hear it because I worried people would just trash her and not even give her a fair shot.
Someone even commented on how the relationship between Elle and Emmett had a different dynamic that was really good.
So far, for the most part, the personal reviews (at least on broadwayworld.com) of Bailey's performance in Legally Blonde have been respectable- very good. Has anyone on this board had an opportunity to see her and if so, could you give us your review?
Slightly off-topic but I was just going through a playbill for Hairspray from 2004. Richard H. Blake (Warner) was Link, Becky Gulsvig (tour Elle) was Lou Ann, and Leslie Kritzer (OBC Serena) was Shelley!
