Anyone who does not think that dancers are athletes will have a change of heart after seeing this video. I have never seen anything like it in this strict discipline. Be sure to watch the whole thing because it just get more incredible. http://www.sonnyradio.com/swanlake_0001.swf Enjoy
Dancers are athletes you are quite correct. That video is amazing, but it is a Chinese circus, not a dance troupe.
Thanks for the link!
Cool, a circus with ballet dancers. The frog piece appears to be accrobatic, however in the Swan Lake piece the swans are on point and to even stand on point is difficult much less stand on someones shoulders and head on point would take herculean effort.
That's kind of how I feel about cheerleaders as well. When I was young it certainly wasn't a sport, but now they are totally atheletes. Ever watch the competitions on ESPN? Amazing.

They aren't dancers they are acrobats, even though they are doing the acrobatics to music. They are SO flexible!
If you would like more info it's all over Youtube, there is another clip of the principal ballerina dancing on the man's back this time. Never have seen dance like this. Just in case some of you don't know what pas de deux means:
In ballet, a pas de deux (French, step/dance for two) is a duet in which ballet steps are performed together. It usually consists of an entrée, adagio, two variations (one for each dancer), and a coda.
