Ok, where does the Naked Cowboy hang out? It is a must to meet him. I was told he was originally from Kentucky. Some are saying he isn't out during the day, only in the evenings. I hope he gets some rest the night before I come to New York so he will be out and about during the day. Does he have a web site? Maybe I can send him a PM and ask him to meet me around 47th Street. LOL!
I saw him once on a Sunday afternoon with a Naked Cowgirl but I don't remember exactly where it was. Google or Alltheweb might be more helpful than me.

The Naked Cowboy usually is seen around the Times Square area which is 44-42nd Streets and Broadway/8th Avenue. The two avenue cross at this point and he usually hangs out where there are lots of people, which Times Square is famous for.
Ok, I have the information that I need. Maybe I'll run into him at Times Square. Thank you both for the info. Now, how can I get this thread deleted so it will not be in anyones way?

The Naked Cowboy! I JUST saw him last Friday, he was out and about, I think it was on 42nd street. He's nice, there was a TON of people around him though; and it's $2 to meet him. My pictures are cute, I'm glad I had enough guts to do it! There was a little old gray haired lady that he picked up and swung around in the air----that was so funny. I've been to NY a few times, and that was the first time I'd actually seen him. Hope you get to meet him :)
What are the distinguishing characteristics about this person that attracts people?
I did not get up close to The Naked Cowboy, but it's everything mentioned above. He wears a cowboy hat and underwear, so he's not nude. From faraway, he seemed to have a nice body.

Mostly the fact that he walks around NYC in his tightie whities and a cowboy hat. If it weren't for that "hook" he'd just be another street musician in NYC.

I'm going to see Grease next week and I was told about the Naked Cowboy and that he was from Kentucky. I just wanted to check him out. Now I don't know how to remove this thread from the boards. Someone PM me and tell me how to get it off your board. Thanks.
No worries about removing it. You're coming to NYC and have some questions for those of us who live in or around the city. There have been many such threads about restaurants, hotels, safety in the city, etc from people who have never been there before. DogsandBirds, MrE, and I are always happy to answer when we can.

Extra just had him on tonight. My husband was calling outside to me to get in that the Naked Cowboy was on. I rushed in to see him.
DogsandBirds: Where did you pick up that picture? My husband and I have been search for a web site for him but came up empty handed.
I'll be all over the place Friday trying to locate this guy. Thanks Eris and LauraFan1, I'll check out the places you mentioned. Surely he'll show up some where.
I'm getting excited about seeing the performers mentioned on this board. I was so glad I booked when I did so I can see Laura and Max perform. I voted for both of them.

Mr.E and I both suggested how to find him as well :)
When you want a picture, do a google search in images. I teach middle school students who to do web searches properly, most people don't know how. If it exists, I can usually find the website, image, whatever.
I'm going to take everyone's suggestions where to locate him. I do really appreciate Mr. E, Dogsandbirds, Eris and LauraFan1 for all the info. I'll surely find him now.
Dogsandbirds: My four year old grandson can do web search better than I can. He hasn't been over this week. LOL! I'll check out images. Maybe now I'll finally be able to find pictures instead of having to ask someone for them. Thank you.
They were just talking about the Naked Cowboy on Conan O'Brien. Talking about his legal battle with the M&M company for a billboard they put up of the blue M&M dressed as the Naked Cowboy. Then Conan brought out his own Naked Cowboy...an overweight man with a moustache.

It seems like the Naked Cowboy has been on TV a bit this month. When he caught my eye last month, I just thought, hey, I'll find him when I'm there. The person that told me he was from Kentucky lives in Canada. She was probably just pulling my leg because I did find his web sites and he's and Ohio native.
I don't think you'll have any trouble finding him. We just got back from NYC and I saw him everyday. He was on Broadway between 45th and 46th, on the Island. The Naked Cowgirl was out also. She was on the sidewalk infront of Virgin Records. Have fun!

Liz: I'll be looking for him Friday. My hotel is on 45th and Madison.

KW go to youtube there are videos of him there. I want my group to see him when we go, it's a definite must NY attraction. I was in NYC on Friday and didn't see him, the naked cowgirl was there though.
The show was fantastic! Everyone in the show is so talented. The costumes were beautiful and they all looked as if they enjoyed performing. I love to go to a show and leave feeling like I got my monies worth and boy did I ever with this show. Laura and Max were wonderful leads. Taylor was all that and more. I enjoyed myself so much that I will be returning to New York the first week of September. I want to see the two new leads perform now. Grease is the Word!
