I have to tell you all that I went to the show on Thursday night. There were these two little girls about 8 and 10 I would guess and their Grandmothers. Three of the four had all green on. Now I didn't ask but I would guess that was for Ashley. The show was great, what a great cast. Ashley was beautiful and her voice was clear as a bell and she sang with such emotion. In the cheerleading scene she threw up the pom poms and one landed on her head. She grabbed it and stomped off, almost like it was planned. Her transformation from sweet Sandy to sexy Sandy was..... WOW. It was a fun night with a large group of people who clapped and some got up and danced during the intermission so they were a lot of fun and enthusiastic during the whole show as well. Greased Lightnin' was a blast, loved it. Matt Hydzik did a great job as Kenickie, even though I must admit I never saw Matt Saldivar. Derek was great too, I loved his Sandy and the drive-in scene was hilarious. Roger, Will Blum, was one of my favorite characters. I think that everyone knew someone like him in high school. The girls were all fantastic, Frenchie, Jan, Marty, Patty and Rizzo. Their acting was top notch. I must admit I love feel good musicals with toe tapping music. Oh I almost forgot about TH. He certainly ingnited the crowd and everyone loved his harmonica. If there were a lot of TH fans there they behaved, no standing or taking of pictures that I could see. Loved the whole show. Standing outside waiting for Ashley and Derek to come out I was listening to the people around me and some had come just to see TH and left after he came out and some were confused about how it came to be that Ashley and Derek were there when they knew that Max and Laura had won the TV show. One woman was pleasantly surprised because she said she had voted for Ashley and was disappointed when she didn't win. There were many French speaking people around me and I am sure that they just came to see Grease and didn't know anyone in the cast. They did seem to like it though.
Thanks for your review!!! I can't wait to go and see the show in September! I'm glad that Ashley had a lot of fans there! :) Did you get to meet Ashley and Derek? Did you get any pictures!!! :) Thanks!!
I sure hope so, can't wait to see the pictures. The official pictures sure have been great haven't they? They are all so good. I heard Ashley is going to be on a New York TV station next week to sing Hoplessly Devoted, Good Morning New York or something like that. Isn't that cool. It is a local New York station, not national.

What great news! I wonder if any board members are in that area and would be able to record it for us so that we could see! I'd love to see her perform on the show!
I wish that Ashley and Derek could be on some national shows! Maybe we should start a petition! Signed by all DashBoard/Dashaholic/etc. members. Then we could be in the audience wearing our matching shirts! :)
Ellen would have to be willing to film on a Monday so that Derek and Ashley wouldn't have to miss time from the show! But that would be really fun! And Ellen would love our shirts! We'd get her one so that she could be a DashBoard/Dashaholic/etc. too!!

We could have Derek wear the underwear she has some of her guys sport around. The one with Ellen on it. She'd love it.
Talk about art imitating life or vice versa, Barbie was Ashley's favorite doll as a child, she played Barbie in "Barbie Live in Fairytopia", she was a cheerleader in Jr. and High school and now she is Sandy! The Sandy Barbie is so appropriate in so many ways.

Think about this, Ashley met all the Grease TV contestants in California in 2006. Now she is working with two of them in 2008. Gosh it is a small world isn't it. She actually saw all of them this year at one time or another except one.

That is very cool! Being on the "Grease" TV show must have been a very bonding experience! That's nice that they have stayed in touch and that Ashley is able to work with Derek and Allie again.

In the broadway.com video of Max and Laura interviewing each other on the Thursday of their last week, Laura had two Sandy Barbies in her dressing room - the cheerleader and high school dance. I wish they made a Danny Ken doll!

...especially because they have made Cha Cha, Rizzo, and Frenchy Barbies. If only makes sense to have a Danny "Ken" Doll for the group to be " near complete". I'll get my sister on it, she's a huge Barbie collector.
Nice article and love the pictures! Thanks Kristen!
