I posted a reply to an earlier post about Laura turning down a role before I saw this posting. How wonderful for Laura to get to play a more substanial role. I love Jane Eyre but I don't think I've ever read Pride and Predjudice. I may have to put it on my reading list!
I think it's very safe to say that Laura is going to have a wonderful, long-lasting career no matter which role/show she is in! I was privileged to see her 3 times in Grease and also to meet her, and Laura is definitely a star and is here to stay That's great that she got rave reviews in Pride and Prejudice, yay!!! I would love it if P & P came to Broadway/Off Broadway next year----just a happy excuse to visit the wonderful NYC!
In this economy, off broadway might be the best way to go for many shows. The costs are a less and you don't have to try to sell thousands of tickets in a night to sustain the show.
I would love to see this show since this is my favorite Jane Austin book.
For people who've asked what's next for Laura I can report that she's currently back in the audition pool like all the other actors between jobs. She's welcoming at least a short term respite after doing the Washington DC show of "Broadway Three Generations" and then immediately going into rehearsals for Pride and Prejudice the day she got home from D.C. Nate's currently still in "Like You Like It" in Brooklyn (really cute, entertaining show) and that's been a ton of fun for him. Laura hopes to come home to Minnesota in early December for a few days to sing in a Christmas program at a large local church that puts on a big Christmas pageant each year. I'll pass on more information about that later when I have more details and am sure it's going to happen. Some of you who live in relative close proximity to Minneapolis might enjoy coming to that. That will probably be our only holiday time with Laura but we'll joyfully take it!
"The world is unfolding as it should." (P. Trudeau, Prime Minister of Canada)
It is good to see that is at least the case in the entertainment world: the cream rises to the top, the talented (such as Laura) get the jobs.
On the other hand, the recent stock market crashes and rebounds makes no sense at all. It seems like random mass hysteria is bringing the world to an unnecessary depression.

The auditorium is huge so I would recommend coming early for best seating since it is free and non-ticketed.
That's right Speedy, you beat me to it. I think Ashley was surprised to see Laura and Nate but Laura hadn't been there since Ashley and Derek's 3rd performance and Laura was very sweet and Ashley was happy to see her.
