I think Ace will be great as Kinicke ! He's charming,handsome and he sings really well !

Went to the AI concert in Hartford last week,it was fantastic. I adore Michael Johns and David Cook. But I have to tell you that every one of the top ten were amazing this year.

Ace doesn't start performing until Sept. 9th. The current Kenicke, Matt Hydzik's last performance is Sept. 7th.

hmm....I'm still going back and forth about whether or not I should go back for Matt's last show as Kenicke. I want to and knowing that he's leaving after the Sunday night performance helps because the discount code works for that performance. But after hearing about how crazy the stagedoor has been of late I'm still not 100% sure. And I MAY be going to the evening show on Sept 14. I just don't know

Rumors had been swirling for a few weeks that Ace Young would soon be stepping into the role of Kenickie in the Broadway musical revival of Grease. It appears to be official now.

Ace begins his stint with Grease on September 9th just as his fellow Season 5 castmate, Taylor Hicks, ends his role as the Teen Angel on September 7th.

Want to see Ace in Grease? You can bid on 4 tickets to the show, plus dinner with Ace afterward, proceeds going to the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Ace will also be co-hosting this weekends Jerry Lewis MDA Telethon.

By the way, Constantine Maroulis recently said in a radio interview that he turned down the role of Kenickie for the chance to originate a role in the Off-Broadway production of Rock of Ages

September 7 Is End of Broadway Line?

No word yet on whether or not Taylor Hicks will re-up for more time with Grease, now that theyve added Ace Young to the group. Star Derek Keeling told Broadway.tv that hes enjoyed his time with Taylor Hicks in an exclusive interview, so it sounds like the cast likes him in. Fans have voiced both the hope that Taylor will stay, but also seem to think that he may head on the road to tour instead of holding court on Broadway.

He's brought fire to Grease, which has a solid cast across the board with Ashley Spencer and Derek Keeling anchoring the show.

With the flood of tourists about to descend on the city for the holidays, one would suspect the show would want to keep Hicks inbut who knows? The clock is ticking!

Yes, shorter hair on guys is definitely my preference!  He's cute now, but I think he'd look even better with shorter hair.  I still love his eyes--he gave some good looks to the camera when he was on "Idol."   smile.gif

Anyway, we're all pretty excited about Ace being in the show. And for everyone wondering if was going to cut his hair, he did. Admittedly sad to see it go, but it needed to be done for his role. I'm sure you will all come to love him just as much as we do!

I think Ace is a hottie no matter how he wears his hair. Here is another of my favorites with shorter, slicked back hair. It'll be interesting to see how the make-up people style it for "Kenickie."

Ace's opening is September 9th, not the 7th ...and he said to some of the fans in Vegas last night that he might not beable to start on Tuesday night cuz they can't have a dress rehearsal on Monday cuz that's the day the theater is closed. He'll let us know as soon as he knows for sure. he's headed straight here from veags (did the MDA Telethon last night and today) to get back into rehearsals. Oh and the Grease people cut his hair...I was horrified at the though cuz I love how he looks with his long wavy locks, but he stilllooks hot with his new haircut.

It is awesome to see everyone here! I have posted a few times but I have a feeling it will be a lot more soon. I was in Vegas and saw Ace 2 days in a row. The hair will take time to get used to but when you meet him his eyes and smile are the only things you notice. He is so awesome with his fans. I hope everyone comes to see and meet him and don't forget to check out his new CD on itunes smile.gif

People in the know. Please help. I have tickets for September 9th. IF he is not opening, I have GOT to get them changed!! All the ads say the 9th. Ace confuses me!! Please advise :( I am trying to get in touch with Ace, but he's hard to pin down!

There is usually a no refund policy unless a performer's name is listed above the title. They may make allowances because of Ace but I'm not sure. Your best bet would be to contact the theatre directly.

Yeah! I'm going to try now. I bought the tickets because of the ad - which I got in email again yesterday from Broadway.com.

I think I have justifiable reason if he doesn't open that night, but I have friends that are traveling. This is NOT good PR.
