The reason for the separate Taylor forum was because we had troublemakers follow us here, and we were disrupting the Grease fans forum.

Hopefully, you won't have the same problem.
If you want your own forum, you can email the admin and ask him.

I really don't think Ace needs a separate forum. Looks like all his fans are great and it is nice to have everyone all in one place.

People, I know what Heather just wrote. I know that Ace told her this -- BUT the Theatre Manager and the Box Office INSIST he is starting on TUESDAY night and they are getting really pi$$ed about this.

I called. I would suggest EVERYONE who plans on going give them a call so they will do something to assure us either way. And I can't figure out for the life of me why Ace and Natalie Hill would give different info!!

This is the phone number. I told them they would be getting a LOT of calls today.

When there were questions about whether or not Taylor was going to be absent on certain dates (due to conflicts, i.e. rehearsals for A Capitol 4th) the box office did not always give out the correct info. Whoever answered the phone was going by the original schedule they had been given, which was still hanging in the box office. This went on for days. People calling and getting one answer, but getting conflicting info at other sites. It was finally resolved when the box office got a revised schedule and got rid of the original one. But until then, they were adamant that he would be appearing, when he wasn't. So, I would try to get info from someone in Ace's "camp" if the confusion continues. It is frustrating because people have made plans and spent money to get to NY. Good luck.

It's probably always a good idea to wait until the performer has a week or two under his belt. That way you are pretty sure he will be there. It's too late once you make your travel plans.

No, I'm from Long Island. But I bought tickets and have friends coming from out of town. It's just annoying. I need to know if I should take time from work and at such short notice, it's a pain.

If Ace is, indeed, starting the 11th I think the box office should let you trade in your tickets. Whether or not they actually will is a different story.

Oh yeah! We can laugh about it now, but that's what it felt like "in the beginning." The poor regulars here didn't know what hit them! The SP showed up (lovely people all!) but quickly on their heels, comes the troll invasion. With whackos, pretending to be Taylor fans, writing posts that were so full of crap - it's no wonder we were banned to our own forum! I think we would have gotten along just fine here in the main forum, if the troll invasion hadn't occurred - but it was what it was! And although the SP is used to the vitriol, the Greasers were understandably a bit shell shocked - so the other forum was born out of necessity. Of course, that didn't stop the trolls. They followed over there, managing to disrupt both forums, until it became obvious to everyone what was happening. Ah, the trials and tribulations of being a TH fan.

I think the only "problem" with having a separate forum is that it sometimes makes for duplicate posting, and it can be "work" to post in both places. But because Taylor was a member of the cast, there was a plethora of information that was relevant to both him and to "Grease" in general. Posting that news in the main forum seemed the right thing to do - even if it was mainly a TH article. As soon as the regulars realized that we weren't spawn of the devil, we ended up posting in both Rydell (look at where I'm posting now! LOL!) and Taylor Hicks! So, good luck whichever way you decide to go as far as a separate Ace forum, but realize that it was (IMO) the troll invasion which prompted the TH separation.

My friend and I went by the box office yesterday and they were still telling us the 9th, too. I don't have a problem going in to exchange them if need be (I'm from LI, too).

Heather, the girl Linny mentioned, works for Ace and got the info straight from him. Since Natalie Hill also posted the 11th in her blog, I'm going to go with that date for now. I would think the cast would know better than anyone when someone is starting.

So, you guys have your answer on Natalie's blog. Really, the box office should have the correct information and since they weren't giving out the right date, you should IMO be able to transfer your tickets.

From Natalie:

"i'm so sorry.. because of equity regulations, we're not able to have a Put-in rehearsal with the full company and ace until september 11 so he will most likely go into the show on the EVE of sept 11. after his final dress rehearsal.... as long as everything goes well and he feels ready."

Absolutely, post it! I assumed that the Linny who commented on her blog, and asked Natalie about Ace's first performance was the same Linny from here - so I figured she had seen the answer to her question. I was surprised when I came here and it hadn't been posted yet, so I thought I'd post it just in case! Maybe Linny hasn't had time to check in yet!

You summed it up quite well, azure. I'd only make one little change. The trolls didn't show up on our heels. They got here before we did. They signed up under multiple names, so they could quickly reappear after being banned. They were busy posting, trying to endear themselves to the regulars so that when we reacted to their juvenile behavior, we looked like the crazy ones. And it wouldn't surprise me if we didn't have another appearance by those nutjobs before Taylor's last show. Ah, the crazy life of a Taylor Hicks fan!!

So did we find out for sure if Ace is starting on the 9th or the 11th? Is it for sure the 11th?

Ace's team is saying it's the 11th for sure and an annoucement will be made as soon as they figure out all of the details as to what to do for people who already have tickets, flights etc.

I don't have a problem staying in this thread to talk about Ace in Grease, I was just wondering since Taylor had his own if Ace would too. It's all good either way.

As with ALL fan groups... Ace does have his share of trolls for fans too. .

Hi everyone! I'm Darla and I'm soooo happy to be here! I can't wait to see Ace as Kenickie! He is so ecxited about this role! I was in Las Vegas last weekend at the MDA Telethon and talked to him about it. He said he didn't have all the lines down, but he had the dance moves down!!! But, I'm sure he'll be fine by the 11th!

One of the SP who was at Grease this weekend took some video of Ace signing autographs after the matinee. It's posted on the Boogie Board in the Grease thread. I hope this link works, but you may have to copy it and put it in your browser. If there's any problem, I'll try to have someone bring the video over to Taylor's forum here and you can see it that way.
