A lot of people on her are biased one way or another, for Ashley or Jose, why not Derek?
People are biased about Ashley or Jose? Why Jose?
hmmm....I wonder...lol
. Since I have never made a comment except positive ones about any cast member, I find the word baised to be odd. Of course, I adore Jose, it goes without saying, but no one here has made any kind of comparative reference between him and another actor in the same role as they have with those playing parts where some one else has had the part such as Sandy or Danny. That's why I find it strange his name should be brought up.
I was just writing an email to someone and while doing so I remembered a few funny moments from the show on Saturday night.
When Matt "drives" on stage before the start of Greased Lightenin' the foam covering the "windshield" almost came off when he put his hand on it to pull himself up in order to sit on the back of the front seat. He was trying very hard to not laugh and the rest of the T-Birds were following suit. You could clearly see the concealed laughter in their faces. Also, when Matt starts to sing the number he leans against the car and the foam covering the door nearly slid off several times.
There was a group of VERY rowdy woman in the front row and they screamed all through Greased Lightenin'. When Will and Jose pull the bras out of the back seat the women started to cheer more and Will pointed to one of them and made a "Call me" gesture with his hand. btw...this same group came back late after intermission. Imagine the entire front row trying to find their seats in the dark. It had to be distracting to the cast.
At one point Will had his "barn doors" open. I didn't notice but one of the SPers who was sitting closer than I was saw this and later mentioned it to Will.

z"Stephen Buntrock is a very talented man and I loved how he did Teen Angel too! It's a pity that Broadway felt so threatened by the reality show that they had to knock the show, but it has proven itself by this time and so I guess the critics don't know everything! The cast is wonderful and they deserve the recognition. I think Jose is awesome too but I am terribly prejudiced!"
Dogsandbirds, "prejudiced and biased" mean the same thing in the dictionary.

The cast is wonderful and they deserve the recognition.
I think Jose is awesome too but I am terribly prejudiced!
D&B prejudiced and biased mean the same thing.
Here's another definition for you all just to clear that up.
Definitions of bias at Dictionary.com. ...Bias, prejudice mean a strong inclination of the mind or a preconceived opinion about something or someone.
Dogs and Birds you have used the word "prejudice" more than once, and "Just Dandy" was quoting your own words!
and I think Taylor makes a handsome, sweet, talented teen angel, and I am biased also... would any of us be here if we weren't biased a little towards one or two of the cast?
I think Ashley makes a wonderful Sandy, but then I'm biased.
I am a huge Ashley fan, but it's hard to know if I am biased or not. When the "Grease" TV show started, I didn't know Ashley. She won me over with her amazing talent and wonderful personality. She became my favorite on the show, and I continued to follow her career. I loved her in "Hairspray" too! So if I go to "Grease" and say how much I enjoyed Ashley's performance, is that considered biased? Either way, I maintain my confidence in Ashley and know that I will enjoy seeing her as "Sandy" tremendously! And don't worry--after I go, I'll share about my experience. Even if others consider it biased! I'll be too overjoyed not to share!

OK, I'll consider myself biased! I think that to be a fan of someone, you have to become biased at some point! I'm not ashamed!

Something else that I forgot to mention is that I went to a restaurant on 8th Avenue with SPers and as we were getting up to leave I saw that Christian Borle (Emmett in Legally Blonde) was at the table next to us. I hadn't seen him earlier because I was at the other end of the table. But I thought it was pretty neat that he was there. I didn't say anything to him because he was having a meal with a friend.

First of all, there is nothing wrong with being biased. That was the point of the comment. The comment was about people being biased towards the people they like in the show. We all support them.
I'm not picking on anyone Stockardfan. It's just that D&B came on here time and time again saying "in her own words" that she is prejudiced because Jose is her son-in-law...and then says that she is not biased at all in her next statement to Just Dandy ... doesn't make any sense. I went back and researched it, and she made the comment about being prejudiced for Jose four different times. Everyone understands that and there is nothing wrong with it. But why would D&B deny being prejudiced? "Prejudiced" and "Biased" mean the same thing. They are synonyms. D&Bis the one that got defensive in the first place. Being biased is not a bad thing. That is not the issue at all.
She brought it up and a lot of people answered her question. No one is picking on her. She asked the question and it was answered.
If you don't want an answer, don't ask the question.
Why is it that every time we comment about something someone said, we are picking on them? I Laurafan1 perfers Max and Laura, so what, Nad hates TH, Greasfan just came and said she preferred Laura's Sandy to Ashley's. So what, that's their opinion. They are entitled to it. That is what this board is about, opinions.
Stockard you must not have read what D&B said, or you would understand the answers to her question. Everyone on this Board is biased in one way or another, or we wouldn't be here.
I just don't get the bias for that th fellow, do you?
*snicker*

I just questioned why Jose was brought up in the context of people discussing who they liked better one person or the other when they were discussing people who are replacements in this cast, which Jose is not. Time and again? I have mentioned it because I have been asked either on here or in private. I just felt there was a bit of attitude in the way the statement was made originally.
