WOW, we had SUCH a terrific time! There were a couple of MAJOR hitches with folks flying in, due to the weather in NYC on Thursday, but everyone DID eventually get there, and well in time for the show.
Thursday was pretty much just waiting for arrival of folks and a lot of yak yak yak in the hotel room. We went out to dinner and then headed over to the theater to wait at the stage door. Our timing really could not have been better; Taylor came out only about 5 minutes after we'd gotten there. We were all wearing the blinky red guitars and when Taylor came out he saw us and said, "Whoa!!!" He came right to us, asked us where we were from. Many of us had his "Early Works" CD to be signed and he was very happy to see that!
We had a couple of groups out and about on Friday; I was with the ones trooping around Times Square area, we went to Rockefeller Center and St Patrick's Cathedral. Of course we stopped at the theater and took pictures in front of the Taylor pic And Grease now has not not one but TWO billboards featuring Taylor, side by side, the 2nd one on and wrapping around the corner
We ended up connecting with others and we all went and had a beer (or two) and then headed back to the hotel to get ready. We all went out to dinner together at a place that advertises the "Show Before The Show"...they played Grease music throughout It was so amazing to have everyone together finally!!!
The show was absolutely terrific, although Derek was sick unfortunately so we didn't get to see him But his stand-in Matt did an awesome job and we got to see Jose as Keinike!! D&B, if you're reading this, you should be VERY proud....he was terrific!!!!
After the show was the talkback, and I personally was very surprised how many cast members came out! Lindsay, who plays Jan, was the first one out. Many had fired up their blinky guitars after the show and she saw them and said "Those are SO cool!!!" So Nonie jumped up and put one on her, then when Kirsten (Frenchy) came out she saw it and said, "Hey!!!!" So she got one too
The cast members were all so sweet and really seemed thoughtful in answering the questions. And Taylor was HILARIOUS!!! We had sent the cast some ribs that they were going to eat on Saturday since it was a two-show day. He said he was hoping to get the band to slow down the numbers after the rib feast...."Grease......is......the......word....." It was so much fun; great group of folks and so nice
After the talkback we went for drinks and Eris joined us; such a wonderful night!!!
Sorry this is so long....I'm obviously running on some major adrenaline

When did this second poster go up? I'm sure they wouldn't invest money in that poster on Times Square if he were leaving in three weeks. I think that poster tells the tale, don't you?

You didn't say anything about Ashley, did she come out for the talk back?

Yes, besides the three I already mentioned as being at the talkback there was Ashley and Matt, Janine (she was my favorite after Taylor), Jose, Will, and Alison...I think that's it I was VERY pleased and surprised at how many of them shared their time with us; they were all very nice

Thanks for the compliment hs5sunny. I saw Jose do Kenicke for the very first time on Tuesday. I am very proud indeed.
I was there too - saw the show 2X again - couldn't resist. Totally in love with all the cast members - the Q&A was wonderful - what a great group of actors -
Spoke with Rizzo (Janine DiVita) after the show - she is beautiful and just love how she plays the part so perfectly. I am definitely a fan of hers....... didn't know she had just started the 1st time I went to see Grease in June.
Remembered Jose (Sonny) from June (met him and got his autograph after the show) - then thought I was seeing things. He was Knicke and Knicke was Danny - Derek wasn't there. The next night Saturday everyone was back where they were supposed to be. It's amazing how they can play different parts and do it SO WELL. Jose is another one of my favorites and he really shines throughout the show.
Also in love with Kristin Wyatt Frenchy - she is so cute and candid. Ashley & Derek are wonderful as Sandy & Danny, just like Max & Laura were. I can see Grease every night of the week and still see something new each time. It depends where you sit - I've sat in four different parts of the theatre and always see a new angle of something that I hadn't seen prior to. Really cool!
Met a lot of SP and had such a great time, laughing our heads off, wandering all over NYC. Love all of my buddies and will never forget this experience.
Cabs don't accommodate six people - at the hotel they got a white stretch limo for us - not one night but two (very reasonable and it was a fluke) - so we arrived at Grease in style -
Spent quite a bit of time with Eris - great to meet her!!!!!! Hi Eris!!!! Derek is a hottie!
I told Eris she can have Derrrick, and I can have Taylor. we understand each other.
Nice try

How can you NOT have a good time in NYC? Even when I am bored, I am glad I am living here!
I would love to live in NYC, just for a few months, to see what that's like To be able to step out your door and have a million possibilities of things to do...I think that would be cool

I've only been to the airport in Phoenix a few times but that's it. I MAY be going to Phoenix next year. I have to wait until the 2009 MLB schedule comes out before any decisions are made.

We flew into Phoenix a couple of years ago and drove all the way to Las Vegas from there. I had never been to that part of the country before, and it was a wonderful trip. After LV, we went to the Grand Canyon and then back to Phoenix to go home.
I just love Arizona, D&B you'll have to come out some time!
Eris, if you are coming to Phoenix next year, you'll have to let me know, we are Diamondbacks fans and make the drive at least once a year to take in a game And if you're coming to Phoenix, you really should plan to take a trip up to Grand Canyon, the South Rim is only about a 3 1/2 hour drive from Phoenix proper. On the way there or back you could take a little side trip to Sedona, Arizona, GORGEOUS!

It's just an idea for right now. It all depends on when the Pirates are in Arizona to play the D-Backs. I don't get vacation until late June 2009 so there are a lot of variables at play here.
