It's a terrific picture. I'd imagine that when Taylor's comes down in a couple of weeks, this will replace his on the billboard(s).

Yes, IF they use a picture, I'm sure it will be the one facing front! Ace Young might get the Times Square poster...who knows! I hope they share it. We shall see.

I doubt very much that they'd use Ace's picture (solo) on a billboard. I love Ace, and he's gorgeous, for sure, but he doesn't have the name recognition that Taylor does. Ace didn't win Idol, and in fact wasn't in the top 5, so I doubt TPTB would feel he could bring in enough people with just his name to warrant that kind of promotion. Also, he is part of an ensemble cast, and in IMO it wouldn't be fair to the other actors. As a die-hard Taylor fan, I have to say that I was completely shocked back in June, when the billboard featuring him first appeared (and I think he was too!) The producers must have expected that his name and face recognition from the show would be massive. And unlike Ace, the role of Teen Angel is unique enough, that they must have felt he could be "isolated" in a picture and it wouldn't be insulting to the rest of the cast. Kenickie is definitely a part of the "group" and I don't think he should be set apart from the guys.

Also, the show has two very attractive leads, and again IMO, they deserve to have their faces on the billboards promoting the show. They also have name and face recognition from YTOTIW, and should be used for that just as Taylor was.

Thanks Azure, that was a really nice thing to say and very appreciated by the Ashley and Derek fans. I just hope there will be posters available for us to buy, one of Ashley's Aunts is going to see the show on Saturday, if they are available, I would like her to bring a couple home.

Please no thanks necessary. It's obvious the leads should be on the billboards promoting the show. I would feel the same way if Laura and Max were still in the show. (I just assumed that they did have that kind of promotion last year.) All of these kids work so hard, and they're all so crazy talented, that they absolutely should be recognized, whenever possible. And not just to sell tickets, but because they've earned it.

If I was an average tourist and a fan of the movie "Grease," I would definitely consider going to see the show when I saw that poster. They are a wonderful looking pair, and by the picture, I could easily envision them as "Sandy" and "Danny." And yes, thanks to everyone for your nice comments!

It definitely would! lol Ironically, I have seen video resumes, picture ones and also ones printed on soda cans for positions in large consulting firms. Funny thing is the creativity is what landed them the interview and their skill set and presence got them the job!

Yes, resumes' have changed! You have to be creative to get noticed. My dauighter got tons of offers out of college. They told her during interview, that they loved the fact that she had picture on her resume'. (That was my idea...lol)

Actor's resumes are a bit different from resumes you send to get other kinds of jobs. A picture is always required and then they want to know what you have done, what skills and where you studied. Also union affiliations. You go in and audition and from there you might get lucky.

Who am I anyway, am I my resume...

You have to adjust the resume to the job, I guess. The picture got her in the door...her talents got her the job. Probably the same with most interviews...along with getting lucky sometimes.

I think most of the time they want to make sure you don't have purple. green and fushia hair, 30 nose rings..etc. That's why they like a picture.

Not saying there is anything wrong with that...but most of the time employers would prefer that you didn't have those things.

Overgeneralization. Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. I know guys who are threatened by tall women & some guys are not into blondes.

However, I personally do find Ashley extremely attractive (I'm a legs man.)

Oh D&B do you always have to have the last word? Shadi was not being literal, more referring to the fact that is says "GREASE" on the picture and that will be a great addition to both resumes.
After all, Ashley didn't even have to audition for Grease this time around because she was already performing in Hairspray. Someone had to see her in Hairspray in order to offer her the part of Sandy without another audition. I do remember her saying that one of the Grease producers came to see her in Hairspray after only about three weeks of her first performance.
Anyway I don't think there is anything wrong with an actor having a portfolio including pictures of prior characters they have played along with their current headshot.

Yes, Ashley had already auditioned for quite a few weeks on YTOTIW, so she needn't audition again. They already knew her. If you are talking about a portfolio, that's one thing, but a resume is a different thing.

I am not saying anything against either Ashley or Derek. Just correcting an assumption about an actor's resume.

I agree with D&B.. Derek and Asheley did not need to pass another audition for the role.. Grease you're the one that I want last almost 3 months... dont you think it is long engough?

Resumes are typically printed on the back of a headshot. Just a basic picture of the peformer, usually just from the shoulders up, in color or black & white (though color has become more "en vogue" as of late).
