Finally got to see the show..

LOVED the show! I went with three good buddies and we ALL enjoyed it!
I confess, I haven't paid that much attention to who plays who and who among you - is a fan of whom, but I do have a few comments -
I was especially impressed with Janine DiVita, Robyn Hurder, Jose Restrepo, Kirsten Wyatt, Derek Keeling, Natalie Hill....and Taylor Hicks.
The sets were very clever and we so enjoyed them!
I was looking for the amazing band leader, but he wasn't there, though the music was still great - was the band leader replaced, or was this his off night?
Couldn't believe how fast the show went. when the curtain came down after the first act, I was shocked!!!
What a fun, fun show!
I have to say that the harmonica addition was brilliant, IMO, and Taylor Hicks wailed on it Sunday night.

But in all seriousness I'm really glad you enjoyed the show. As for the bandleader...I really don't know. I've seen the show eight times and I never pay him any mind. IMO there are other places to go to watch a bandleader other than a Broadway show.

I'm really enjoying the most recent changes to the show. Previously Those Magic Changes began with Ryan (Doody) already on stage and the rest of the T-Birds discovering him practicing playing guitar. When he did start to sing he started off singing really well right from the get go. That's no longer the case and it adds an extra bit of fun energy to the scene.

Christine, I think the same thing! Once the music starts, it goes by so fast and I want more. And I thought the harmonica did an a little extra to the show. Thanks for sharing!

Could this be a sign of a grease addiction? My husband said he was ok just seeing it once. I knew once the show was over that I wanted to see it again!

Sorry, you meant Stage Door? Yes! It was so much fun to meet the actors - though some of them I didn't recognize at first. They all seemed to appreciate the fans appreciating them.
It made me realize that they're all just regular people who have an unusual job. Also, they all seemed very small. smile.gif

You know what...Taylor is leaving a week from Sunday and then you'll never have to worry about hearing him sing Beauty School Dropout again. So how about we have a week of no insulting Taylor or his role in the show? Just a week of no fighting over him or the song he sings. How does that sound?

I agree with you Eris!  Let's give Taylor the respect he deserves this week.  He has brought a lot of joy to a lot of people!  He has brought a nice spark to the show!  HAVE A GREAT LAST WEEK TAYLOR HICKS!!!biggrinbiggrinbiggrin

I agree with you on the Jose comment! He plays Sonny so well as if the character is made for him! Thanks for Grease on Broadway! Grease keeps me wanting to come back for more. There is so much talent in the show!

Well I know that. Duh. LOL! I don't care if she's a fan or not. She just seems to actually dispise Taylor. And I couldn't help wonder why.
