Providence is close enough, I hope! You were the one I thought of immediately when that was the first date listed. You've got to go to this one. Maybe we can hook up with NESP. They're already making plans!

Taylor Hicks Breaking Broadway News American Idol Takes Grease Across America
BREAKING NEWS: How we love Taylor Hicks in Grease. An American Idol in a great American musical. News moments ago that Taylor Hicks will tour the country starring in Grease. We heard the rumors, but now we know the facts. According to Variety, the show hits the road in December. Will he play Danny? Sandy? NopeTaylor will again play Teen Angel, the role that wowed audiences on Broadway. Stops include Minneapolis, Rhode Island, Chicago, Seattle, and more. Check out our conversation with another Grease American Idol, Ace Young, right here on Broadway.tv.
Well, I am thrilled because the Omaha stop is just four hours from me. It is driveable -- and just hope the weather holds up. It's a straight line drive right down the highway a couple blocks from my house, albeit four hours, but at least it's not New York where I couldn't afford to get to.
I think this is a wonderful opportunity for Taylor - A national tour of Grease, the PR and it gives him time to do further work on his up and coming CD - Taylor is a magical performer, gifted to the max. I had the chance to see him in Grease and thought he was perfect as the Teen Angel, he brought life and energy to the character and humor. It was a remarkable performance! I think it's great that others around the country will have the opportunity to see this production and now, Taylor in a role made for him!
raylindy and Darcy all I can say is get your party hats ready you're in for a fun time. The Grease revival returns the audience to a fun period of time when guys had the "hot" cars and were obsessed with their hair and girls wore crinolines, poodle skirts, black and white saddle oxford shoes, and were obsessed with their hair. ;)
Get your tickets, find a group in your area to plan for the show and enjoy the anticipation! I look forward to your participation on the Forum.
What AMAZING news to come home from vacation to; THE SHOW IS COMING TO TUCSON!!!! They were talking about it on my radio station this morning, with of course mention of our Taylor!
***does the major happy dance***

That he is! I don't know why I'm so taken by the picture of him on the bus. I guess because of the way Taylor used to talk about how excited he was to have his own bus after AI.

I'm sad about him not performing in Omaha because that was my best bet. I may try Chicago, but the weather in January is so unpredictable. I guess I will wait and see. I really, really want to see him.

my husband's trucking company is based in Kansas city.
I'm trying really hard! You're terriffic (can give you a reference now) and just love spending time with the SP (which is steadily growing with all the new fans).
"It was such a success and such a great way for me to learn a new craft," Hicks says of his Broadway debut. "I feel like if I'm going to have longevity in the entertainment industry, I've got to cover all aspects. I have to reinvent myself."
The national tour of "Grease" will offer a unique hybrid for Hicks, he says.
"We're going to cross-promote this record with the `Grease' tour," he says. "I'll be allowed to perform my single in the show on tour."
Most importantly, it offers fans a chance to experience Hicks live, which he says is crucial to his success.
"There's such a live aspect to me," he says. "You put me on the radio, and you can't see me, you can't feel me, you can't touch me, so it's easy to count me out in that regard. On the road, that's where you really make your mark and have your longevity."
Hope everyone who lives near one of the tour stops can go. Not only will they enjoy Grease, but now will get to experience another side - Taylor Live!! Woo Hoo
