Originally from Philadelphia, I remember sleeping with a Phillies pennant under my pillow during the last 10 games of the the "64" season (Phils blew a 6 1/2 game lead with only 10 games left). Boy was I crushed. The Phillies had even printed World Series tickets (at one time I actually had 5 of those collector's items). 1980 proved that there was a God. My mother and I were on the phone together (1500 miles apart) during the last inning of the last game of the Phillies' one and only World Series championship. So you see, I have been (for the most part) a long suffering sole (but not suffering as much as Cubs fans). That makes this year so much sweeter. Hopefully it will stays sweet.
Go Phillies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Finally, someone who appreciates what the Cubs fans are going through! I think it is great that even after 100 yrs of no World Series, the Cubs still have loyal fans!
I hope the Phillies beat the Dodgers with three in a row!
Phew, the game started while I was at work so I missed some. It's now the bottom of the 3rd and the Phillies are winning 8-2. The Dodgers are on their third pitcher.

Phillies pitcher Brett Myers just got his third hit of the game. While I'm glad he's hitting so well I hope he doesn't tire himself out running the bases.
