My daddy was watching NASCAR when I was little and told me to pick out a driver.I picked Kyle Petty and have been a Petty fan since. He's a class act.I've met him and Richard many times.
I have to agree Gramps3...I personally don't think we should talk Sports, Politics, or Religion on this forum! Why do we have a Phillies thread? Doesn't make sense to me. Everyone has a favorite thing. After all, this is a Grease on Broadway Forum. These Boards could get quite crowded...lol
I, for one, am a Buckeye and Blue Devil fan... GO BUCKS and BLUE DEVILS!
Gee Gramps, I just saw the Phillies thread and figured it was Ok to talk sports. Do the Phillies have something to do with Grease that I don't know about? Do you think it is Ok to talk baseball Gramps?
You're welcome. I figure as long as you're not being rude about it we can have some non-Grease posts. If someone doesn't want to read it they don't have to click on it.
And baseball can be Grease related. Derek's a baseball fan, I've spoken to Ashley about baseball, the show has a softball team in the spring/summer, etc.
And I bet there are some NASCAR fans in the cast.
See, everything's related

LOL I like the way you think, Eris. I wonder if any Grease stars are fooltball fans? ;)
I wouldn't be surprised.
I'm not suggesting we absolutely fill the board with 100 non-Grease posts. But something every now and again isn't going to break the forum. Besides, it takes more time and energy to complain about it than it does to simply skip it.

Maybe the Admin could make a separate folder for this type of thread.
I don't think there's a real need for an OT forum. It doesn't happen often enough to warrent a totally different forum. On the front page there are 29 (not counting the admin's sticky) threads. 3 of them are non-Broadway/Off-Broadway related (i'm not counting the chat threads because they only popped up because of the removal of the chatbox). This thread, the Phillies thread, and the thread complaining about the the off topic threads. If you don't count that thread because it's "board related" then you just have 2.
When you get into having a different forum for every little thing, in my opinion, it really dilutes the board. If someone wants to find an update on, say, Austin Miller. Instead of coming to the main board they have to go to the "Reality Show Contestants Board". Or if someone wants an update on Jenny Powers they have to go to the "People Who Have Left Grease" board. And, as I said, there aren't enough of those updates to warrent their own forum.

I agree Eris. I think as long as the TITLE of the thread is clearly stated, then it should be allowed.
I.E.----NASCAR...........My first impression is that in this thread, there would be a conversation about Nascar and it would have nothing to do with Grease. If I wanted to partake in the conversation, I would enter the thread. If I didn't, then I wouldn't. Choice is good.
Just as long as the conversation that is taking place has something to do with the TITLE. Many of times, some threads get hi-jacked, I think thats where the real problem lies.
Anyways, living only 30 miles from and growing up with......I have to be a Matt Kenseth fan.

Exactly Eris. I have said that all along. I am not a Nascar or a Baseball fan...so I just completely skip over these threads usually. And, if you want to talk about something, talk about it. But everyone has to remember that, when someone starts a thread that they are not interested in. Have a good evening everyone!
I still don't understand why you would come to a Grease on Broadway website to talk about Nascar or baseball...but I guess whatever floats your boat is fine with me. I, for one, will keep the Grease topics.
The last race I went to was the Daytona 500 that Earnhardt was killed in.Now I spend every spare dollar traveling all over the country to see Taylor concerts, but I would like to go back to Bristol again.

I was just joking about the football thread, even though it would be great to have one, but I might be the only fan here. I agree with what you're saying. A few off topic threads won't hurt anything, and it makes the board more fun, especially on days when there isn't any new Grease news or reviews posted. Plus it keeps the board more active.
