Thank you to everyone for your support and for your kind words! I appreciate all of you so much! I wish that there was not so much negativity out there! The last thing that I wanted was to have my positive comment reacted to my negative comments, which is unfortunately what happened. I have learned the hard way that it is not wise to post there. Thanks again!

Can I very, very, very nicely ask that we take the Ashley comments and complaining about BWW be taken to another thread or PM so we can get back to discussing stalk....I mean helping Jose? Please, please?
Should I add another "very"?

I think it would be best if a new thread was made for collecting money for Jose...so that everyone could see the title of it! Just my opinion!
That makes sense. In a topic, that says something like "The Jose Project." So people can look and help if they'd like.
While all of this is lovely and kind, I will make Jose a cake (or buy one) and say it's from all of you. I can have Greased Lightening silk screened on it. Others have been injured and no one made a big fuss, so let's not make him feel singled out, even for something as special as this.
I was actually joking about us buying him a cake. It wouldn't be fair if he got one. Daniel didn't get one when he tore his ACL, Natalie didn't get one when she left for her own health problems, and Derek didn't get one when that mean Ashley broke his nose (kidding lol).

You forgot about Derek and Ace's broken fingers! Maybe we could send the whole cast a cake and put a crutch on it!

And Helene's broken toe!
Maybe we should just get a cake and I'll jump out of it. Though I think only Derek would appreciate that.

Hi, Eris and everyone! I have not been checking the boards as much as we used to. I started a new job and have been too busy. We are so saddened to hear about Jose's injury. As D&B knows, we are very big fans of Jose, especially a certain super someone. The kids will be happy to create cards and mail them to Jose. We wish him the speediest recovery possible and know he will stay in good spirits. He will be in our prayers.
He is uncomfortable, but waiting patiently to hear what day he is to go in for surgery. Your prayers are appreciated.
My husband had a torn maniscus (SP). Not sure if that is what Jose has or not. He should do well and will come back at 100%. My 50 year old husband was teaching a friend son's how to go over a hurdle...track coach. We he forgot he was 50....lol
He is fine now though...and doesn't try to act like a child anymore...
I added Jose's name to the Montgomery Ward mailing list.
I should start writing the names down because I know so many ill people. I know several people with cancer, my grandmother is having health issues and a newborn baby who has to have brain surgery.

Ashley has a meniscus tear in her right knee, but she never had it fixed.
Poor Ashley! I hope that it doesn't hurt a lot when she performs. I feel so bad for the cast--they give so much of their time, energy, and talent. Wish it wasn't so dangerous. I hope that they know how much their hard work and dedication is appreciated.

Many people have a small tear of some sort. It is quite common. The rationale to have surgery comes from the size of the tear. I can tell you from personal experience, a sizable tear is very painful and needs correction so you can function.

And most small meniscal tears are not found until arthroscopic surgery is done for other reasons e.g. collateral or cruciate ligament tears.
She tore her's in high school when she ran track. It kept her from high jumping because it was her take off leg but when the season was over and she wasn't putting undue stress on it the pain went away. The tear happened when she was running hurdles.
I have a tear in my anterior cruciate ligament that the orthopod shaved down in surgery. I make sure I exercise my knees and keep the muscles around the knee strong, and that seems to help.

I guess that she's been dealing with it for awhile now. Glad it's not too painful! You would never know she was dealing with that when you watch her perform! She's so talented!

yes, but the last time the emphasis seemed to be on the "ciate" part

is that your vertebrae in your back? I had neck surgery and fused 3 vertebrae.
I had such pain in my shoulder, I would cry, especially after being at work all day (telephone operator). The only drug that would have relieved the pain would have been a narcotic, which my doctor didn't want to prescribe. I tried physical therapy, which helped for about a half hour, then it would start hurting again.so I went to see an orthopoedic surgeon, he said I would need surgery, when I was in enough pain, I would be back. I sceduled it that day. I still get chiropractic help and massage, but I am 100% better.
