Kristen, in your opinion, which "Grease" production did you determine to be the best? The New York or London Production?
The London one was good, but I really think that the New York production was the best. I think that more money was put into the New York show--the sets were better in New York. The Broadway show just seemed more high-quality than the London one.
Andrew Lloyd Webber 'is most powerful theatre producer of last decade' Andrew Lloyd Webber has been named as the most powerful person in British theatre over the last decade, according to an industry power list.

Lord Lloyd-Webber owns the title of the last decade's 'most powerful theatre producer' Photo: PA The Stage newspaper, which does a 'top 100' list of British theatre's movers and shakers every year, made its decision by collating the results of the last decade.
It put Lord Lloyd-Webber in first place, Sir Cameron Mackintosh in second and Howard Panter of the Ambassador Theatre Group in third.
BBC talent shows such as How to Solve a Problem Like Maria? and Any Dream Will Do appear to have helped Lord Lloyd-Webber achieve his dominance.
Earlier this year Kevin Spacey, the Hollywood actor turned artistic director of the Old Vic in London, criticised the BBC for staging such shows, saying they breached its editorial guidelines because they effectively promoted certain musicals.
Spacey said he felt they were "essentially a 13-week promotion for a musical" and asked: "Where's our 13-week programme? When are they going to do one about a play?"
After the 2006 television series How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria?, in which Connie Fisher won the role as the lead for Lord Lloyd-Webber's revival of The Sound of Music, the production went on to take £12 million in advance sales tickets.
Alistair Smith, news editor of The Stage, said: "It's no surprise that Lloyd Webber has come out on top. Every year, he has been there or thereabouts, holding the top spot in The Stage 100 for six out of the last 10 years. He has been a hugely important figure on the theatrical landscape and continues to be so. Last year's winner Mackintosh, though, has never been far behind ."
Sir Cameron also had the benefit of publicity generated by the BBC talent show I'd do Anything, to find a new lead for his production of Oliver! at the Theatre Royal in Drury Lane.
The 2008 Stage 100 will be announced on December 31.

What an amazing talent he is! Beyond me, how anyone could dwell on his failures and not his accomplishments! What living Broadway Producer in the U.S., can rival his accomplishments?
I remember him saying that maybe six of the contestants had a future in musical theater and Ashley was not his favorite that night but isn't it ironic that Ashley has been on broadway the longest of any of the 12.
Didn't he say something on YTOTIW ? Maybe it wasn't to Ashley, I may be mistaken.
Laura got his highest praise that night for her performance of Jesus Christ Super Star. He called her performance staggering.
Yes, you're absolutely right...and I went back and watched Ashley's performance of "Take That Look Off Your Face." ALW said her performance was fabulous.

Yes, and wasn't Ashley in a National Tour before the Grease TV Show?

Broadway Dude, do you have a link to any of ALW's comments? I looked for it on youtube and I couldn't find it. I couldn't even find Laura's Jesus Christ Superstar. Thanks!
"As for you. Goodness me! Never sung by a girl that I know before and you actually did the part of three people because, you know, normally it's a soul singer who does it and then you have the soul chorus and you also have the choir. You did all three terrifically. I think you're going to go very far and you're going to go a long way in this competition."
ALW on Ashley:
"And, well, a song Take That Look Off Your Face - made famous by Denise Van Outten on the West End stage. And you've got the whole thing with confronting that girlfriend who's come with the bad news wonderfully. Fabulous performance both of you/" (Derek was there as well).
Picking his "Sandy" at the end of the show:
"And I was staggered by Laura"
