Now would be a great time to remember our favorite things about the Grease experience.

My favorite memory was when I got the call from Ashley, telling me that she was contacted about assuming the role of Sandy.

After all the work, it was really nice to hear it had come full circle for her!smile

Mine was my meeting with David Ian at the opening preview as well as an in depth conversation with Kirsten Wyatt (Frenchy) at the same performance as she was the only one to take time that night to speak with the fans one on one.

What a fun idea, pinkfan!  Thanks!

My favorite was definitely my best day ever!  It was so great getting to spend the day with Ashley's wonderful friends from Ohio and of course, Ashley!  I cannot express how thankful I am to everyone who made that day possible. Ashley is truly a sweetheart, and I hope that she realizes how special she made me feel.  She knows how to treat her fans.  smile  I truly enjoyed getting to go backstage and to Starbucks and dinner with Ashley.  And what an amazing opportunity to get to see Ashley perform as "Sandy!"  She was awesome in "Hairspray" too, but it was so great after waiting over a year to get to see her in this role that she was born to play!  I cannot wait to see what she will do next!  Great things are ahead!  aww

My favorite would be my trip to New York, and getting to meet some of my sp friends, along with Eris, a new friend from this board. smile.gif
The show was better than I could have hoped.smile.gif

I have traveled to places I have never been and experienced, wonderful things because of Ashley's involvement with Grease. How wonderful it has been for all of us. Thank you Ashley. I too met David Ian and Kathleen Marshall and had a pretty interesting conversation with both. I have also met and spoke with Max and Laura and how lovely they were too.

BBS, I still tell the story about how I got to the theatre only moments before the lights dimmed and I didn't even have time to open my Playbill to see if there were any understudies. A very amusing story.

My favorite time was meeting Rizzo (Janine). During the M&G everyone was talking and asking questions. I said that I saw the original Grease. After our M&G with the cast we went outside. Someone called out to me, come over here now! They were telling Rizzo how much I liked her. When I walked over she said "Oh you're the person who saw the original Grease?" We chatted for a bit and I have two photos taken with her.

It was wonderful meeting many cast members and a time I'll never forget! They are all very talented people biggrin.gif

Thanks Kristen.  It was so wonderful to meet and become great friends with you too!  Also, thanks for all the wonderful, high quality DVD's from the Grease TV Show.  It was one of my nicest Christmas gifts, and something that I will treasure.  Spending time with you in New York, was one of my favorite "Grease" moments too!

Thank you!  That means so much to me!  Your friendship truly is a gift! And you are welcome for the DVDs--I'm glad that you can watch Ashley's rise to stardom over and over again!  Of course, you always knew that she was a star, but the show was the chance for the rest of us to see!  I look forward to us seeing the next show that Ashley will be in!  smile

Oh, it's too bad that Matt Hydzik has a girlfriend too, her name is Meg, he gave her a shout out in the Grease Playbill.

It was a privelege to see Ashley perform. She is so down to earth and fun to be with. She has been a source of pride for her family and everyone who knows her. I can't wait to see what is next for her.

It was so great to travel to California to see an episode of the TV Show.  I really had a blast, and got to meet some great people.  Below are some of the pictures I took!

Even though I never got to see Ashley perform in person, I compiled memory books for her from every print medium. Photographs, news paper articles, internet articles all in chronological order, it was fun for me and a wonderful keepsake for her. The Grease Broadway memory book is the third one I have done, I guess I am to the last page. I am hoping to get a lot of pictures from the last night of "Grease" on Broadway and the after party. If any of you on the board take pictures at the last show, PM me and we can arrange for your pictures to be in the book. Thanks and God Bless.

For me, it was the day Jose got the part after many months of waiting and so many call backs! Then, it was going to the gypsy dress and seeing him perform and well the rest of all of this, so many things, which have been just the most wonderful of times! I am so proud of him!

Ashley has slowly been taking her belongings home from the theater so that by Sunday night she won't have to worry about it. I am sure that once they leave Sunday night, they won't be allowed back in.

That is very sad!  cry  But I have complete faith that someone as talented and as wonderful as Ashley is will find herself with another role very soon! I'm praying that it won't be long before I'm watching her perform in something else.

My favorite memory would be racing the streets of NYC from seeing Mamma Mia to the Brooks Atkinson stage door. I got to meet Ashley, Will and Ace! The sad part was that Ace told me to come back to see him before his run was over..... that didn't happen cry.gif

My fondest memory would have to be when Ashley came to my house before the Grease TV show and asked for my help in picking songs to sing on the TV show. Her computer at home was down. All the contestants had to send in a list of songs that they might want to sing. We sat, and laughed, and ate chocolate chip cookies!

We spent hours looking on the internet for songs that would be appropriate for the 50's/60's era. It was so much fun! One of the songs I remember was "It Takes Two," which was she and Max's great duet! That seems like years ago now! Ashley has come so far since then!

Thanks for the ride Ashley! You've made us all very proud!

Favorite memories: Being with tons of other Laura fans the night she won the role of Sandy, witnessing her dream to be on Broadway come true. Being blessed enough to see her & Max as Sandy & Danny---3 times! I feel so happy and lucky to have seen the Original Cast; nothing can compare to that, they were extraordinary. Starting out wanting to see the show due to Max & Laura, and making the excited discovery of some other EXTREMELY talented performers: Jose Restrepo, Stephen Buntrock & Matthew Saldivar in particular. Getting to see Taylor Hicks in person---what a voice and all around nice guy. I'm grateful to Kathleen Marshall for this show, it's renewed my interest in Broadway, leading me to come back a few times for Young Frankenstein and two performances of Legally Blonde. Let's see more thoughts: waiting anxiously for the Soundtrack to come out and absolutely LOVING it---especially "Hopelessly Devoted To You" which was always a song I skipped with the movie CD, but hearing Laura sing it is indescribable and is now one of my favorites biggrin.gif Seeing how WONDERFUL and personable Max & Laura were with their many fans outside the stage door, how gracious and kind. What a great ride this has been----I'm sure we can all agree that this board has been very interesting wink.gif Great show with some wonderful memories and I can't wait to see what's in store for the incomparable Laura & Max. One thing is for sure: they will go far being the absolute genuine sweethearts that they are: great things come to great people!!!!!!
