Since "Hairspray" is closing tomorrow too--so sad--there was a thread about it on Broadwayworld.com in which people could share their comments about the show. I loved this comment that was made about Ashley:

I've seen Hairspray 11 times. It changed my life in ways I can't even describe. It influnced my career choice. I can't tell you how much this show means to me and how sad I am it is clsoing, or that it is "stopping it's beat". I have had the pleasure of going backstage twice, thanks to a very special cast member. I have grown to know many cast members from this show and am sad for them that they will all be out of a job, and not only them, but the crew as well and everyone else that is invloved with this amazing production. I wil be balling my eyes out on January 4th (from row F of the mezz as well....i've never sat in the mezz there, i hope it's a great seat!) and will always love this show. I have seen this show from the front row 9 out of the 11 times I have seen it. I think I'm going back Friday or Saturday to lotto one last time!
The first time I saw the show was September 1st, 2006. I remmeber I thought Caissie Levy was the funniest person, ever. haha. I thought Haylie Duff was amazing (gag me....i know better now). I was just blown away from the first moment I saw it. I have seen numerous people in all different roles, EXEPT for Seaweed. Tevin has NEVER been out when I'm there and wouldn't want it any other way. I have seen 4 different Tracy's (Shannon is my favorite), 4 different Penny's (Caissie is my favorite), 4 different Ambers (Ashley Spencer is my favorite), 4 different Edna's (Paul Vogt, FTW) , 5 different Link's (Connie, or Van..not sure which I love more), 4 different Corny's (Clarke is my fave), 5 different Motormouths (Darlene is my favorite), and I think 5 different Velma's (Isabel is my favorite). and I am so grateful I have had the chance to see so many different talented people come in and out of the ensemble. I love this cast, the music, and the show itself more than anything on Broadway. Goodbye Baltimore!

Thanks Kristen, how nice.
What a nice review about Hairspray. Thank you for posting this Kristen. It is great! It is still so weird for me that one summer I was sitting in the audience watching "Hairspray" with Ash...and the next year I was watching her perform on the same stage. Unbelievable!
Well... since Grease is closing and Hairspray is touring... I wish Ashley would join the tour so I can see her perform in Montreal on April 15.... and I am sad cause it looks like Grease won`t come this time around.
You would love Hairspray, go see it, it's a blast, the whole way through. I wish Ashley could join the Hairspray tour, she is going to need a job on Monday.
Ashley was supposed to go to Hairspray's last show but as it turns out she will be at her own last show, how sad is that. Hairspray only has one show on Sunday, 3:00, Grease is 2:00 and 7:00. I suppose if she had a car waiting she could catch the second act and still make it back in time for her show.

Yes, I know that Ashley loved the Hairspray cast too! Always said it was such a great family over there!

That would be nice for her if she could at least see the second act. She was so great it that show, and I'm sure that everyone in the cast would love to see her.

I mean waiting for the show to close, the last show
Try to remember that the show closing will lead to wonderful new opportunities! It's the beginning of something else, and though it's hard to wait, I have confidence that the end of this show will lead to a great new beginning in another.

I don't even have enough time to tell you how much she has done for Ashley and most of you would find it hard to believe.

Thanks Pinkfan! You are the best! You know everyone...Pinkfan is the best person you can every imagine being friends with. I remember her driving me to the hospital for an xray when I was so scared, I couldn't even drive my car!
When I need someone to share my happiness, my sadness, my fear, she is the first one I call. She sat with me in the hospital when my grandbaby was born! She came to be with me the minute she heard my mother had died!
I am truly blessed to know her! She always holds my shaky hand, and her hugs can be felt clear to my bones! I wish that kind of friend for you all!

That's so awesome! But I'd believe it! I am so grateful to have had almost two years of friendship with her! She's an amazing person!

What a gift you both have! It's so great how you appreciate each other too! Sadly, I know how quickly a friend can be gone from your life. My best friend passed away almost 5 years ago, and I am so grateful for the time I had with her. I cherish all of my friends, especially now.
